Transfer Deadline Day Update

We are still waiting for some of the bigger moves to be confirmed and we will bring you the news as it happens. In the meantime, here’s what has transpired over the last couple of hours.
CONFIRMED: Full-back Kevin Mbabu has left Fulham on a permanent transfer to Midtjylland, having signed a two-year contract with the Danish team. (Fulham official announcement)
Wolves are looking to seal a deal with Ajax for 20-year-old winger Carlos Forbs. It will be an initial loan with an option to buy next summer for £11.3 million.
CONFIRMED: Also leaving Fulham is 21-year-old centre-back Ibane Bowat, who has signed a three-year contract (with option for a further year) with Portsmouth today. (Fulham official announcement)
Still nothing new apart from intentions on the Jadon Sancho front. Chelsea are still expected to sign the Manchester United winger today, but no formal agreement is in place as of yet.
Liverpool young winger Ben Doak is set to spend the season on loan at Middlesbrough, who have reportedly beaten Hull City to the punch to secure his services.
CONFIRMED: Chelsea did manage to ship out at least one goalkeeper, with Djordje Petrovic set to join Strasbourg on loan for this season. The French club is part of the same multi-club entity as the Blues. (Chelsea official announcement)
Everton centre-back Mason Holgate’s permanent transfer to Olympique Lyon has fallen through, so now it seems likely that he will spend 2024/25 on loan with Sheffield Wednesday. Quite a drop.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said that he is “very happy” with the club’s business this summer, making it likely to be a quiet evening in Birmingham on deadline day.
Wolves might part ways with Daniel Podence, who is close to joining Saudi club Al-Shabab in a £5 million deal. The agreement is said to include a “big sell-on” clause, according to the Telegraph.
After the sale of Sam Johnstone, it appears that Crystal Palace are short of a goalie, so they are looking to bring in Nottingham Forest’s Matt Turner on loan for the rest of the season, according to The Athletic.
Speaking of which, Nottingham Forest have already secured the services of a goalkeeper today, bringing in Manchester City’s George Murray-Jones on a three-year contract, with a one-year extension option.
James Ward-Prowse’s loan move to Nottingham Forest is inching closer, with the West Ham midfielder currently undergoing a medical before signing a one-year loan contract without an option or obligation to buy later today.
