Matchday 4 Awards
Plenty of Premier League teams felt the international break hangover this past weekend, with quite a few performances impacted by the first time this season that club football took a backseat. The best example of this is the FIVE games which failed to bring us at least three goals this round. That does not happen often…
Everton vs Aston Villa and Palace vs Sunderland both ended in blank draws, while Fulham, Newcastle and Liverpool only mustered 1-0 wins over Leeds, Wolves and Burnley, respectively.
Elsewhere, Manchester City blew away local rivals United 3-0, Arsenal recorded the same result over Forest, while Brentford and Chelsea gave us a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Лучший игрок
A Martin Zubimendi brace is certainly a collector’s item, so we are picking him for the Best Player distinction.
His first goal was a rocket from outside the box which took Matz Sels by surprise as well as the rest of us, considering it was Zubimendi’s first-ever club goal from range. He also found the net in the second half from a peach of a cross from Leandro Trossard, putting some extra gloss on a Gunners’ win over Nottingham Forest.
Лучший XI
GK – Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City)
RB – Jurrien Timber (Arsenal)
CB – Cristian Romero (Tottenham)
CB – Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace)
LB – Andy Robertson (Liverpool)
CM – Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal)
CM – Pape Matar Sarr (Tottenham)
CM - Мойзес Кайседо ("Челси")
RW - Кевин Шаде ("Брентфорд")
ST – Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
LW - Фил Фоден ("Манчестер Сити")
Лучший гол
Yes, Zubimendi’s first goal against Forest was great, but our Best Goal award this week goes to Alex Scott for his strike to give Bournemouth the lead against Brighton.
It was a sublime goal, a lovely placed shot on the turn that left Verbruggen helpless.

Лучшая игра
Brentford’s home draw against Chelsea was the sort of topsy-turvy affair that always leaves you wanting more and this is one of the reasons we love the Prem. After opening the scoring through Kevin Schade, the hosts fell behind thanks to goals from Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo, only for Fabio Carvalho to nick a point in injury time.
Stunning stuff!

Лучшая статистика
Liverpool have once again left it late, sealing a win over Burnley only thanks to an injury time penalty scored by Mo Salah. This makes the Reds the first side in Premier League history to win four games in a row thanks to goals scored in the last 10 minutes of games or later.
After finding the net for the first time since January, Phil Foden now has seven goals in Manchester derbies, with only Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney having more (eight each).
Лучшее/худшее решение VAR
We’re not entirely sure what the VAR booth was doing during the Burnley vs Liverpool game, but they definitely were not watching the action…
Лучшая замена
Surely Carvalho, right? After coming on for Brentford as the 90th minute was ticking away, he managed to be the right man in the right spot for the Bees’ equaliser against Chelsea and spark some wild celebrations at the Gtech.
Самые смешные моменты
Haaland contributed plenty to his team’s win over United and could have had a hat-trick. When it looked for all the world like he would score, you can forgive Tijjani Reijnders for celebrating a bit early…
Needless to say it was a bit premature.
Another thing that brought a smile to our faces was Roy Keane’s observation about the City vs United game: “Not one yellow card. The Manchester derby, it’s raining and set up for a few tackles. You shouldn’t be able to get out of bed for a week, not one yellow card! Try tackling. Try hitting somebody. Football is a physical game.”
We can’t help but feel like he’s trying to stir s**t up, but we were not expecting anything different from one of the Premier League’s hardest hard men ever.
