Matchday 9 Awards
It was a big weekend for Arsenal as they narrowly beat Crystal Palace, while both other main title contenders – Liverpool and Manchester City – fell to shock defeats to Brentford and Aston Villa respectively.
At the other end of the table, both Leeds and Burnley proved their desire to stay in the Premier League with wins over fellow relegation candidates West Ham and Wolves.
Elsewhere, Manchester United strung three wins in a row by beating Brighton, Sunderland stunned Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Newcastle needed a late goal to overcome a spirited Fulham side.

베스트 플레이어
Bryan Mbeumo has truly arrived at Manchester United. He scored a brace on Saturday to help Amorim’s side down Brighton at Old Trafford.
It was not just his goals though, as he was unplayable all game and looked every bit like the man to truly awaken this slumbering giant of a club.
Take a bow, Bryan, and keep doing your thing!

A goal straight from a corner kick is a collector’s item, so we are rewarding Bournemouth captain Marcus Tavernier with our Best Goal award this week.
It’s always lovely to see a goal like this, but you can’t help but feel for the opposition goalkeeper, especially when it’s someone who has been as consistently brilliant over the last two seasons as Matz Sels.

We wouldn’t judge anyone for thinking that Wolves vs Burnley had no right to be as entertaining as it was.
There were so many moments of goalmouth action, as well as a proper scrap in midfield at times, that kept us entertained beyond expectation. Wolves will certainly be kicking themselves for losing this game. Drawing level from two goals down, knocking at the door for a third for large periods of time, only to concede in the fifth minute of injury time…
Definitely a kick in the teeth for the hosts, but a hugely entertaining affair at the Molineux.

No Premier League goalkeeper has made more saves than Robin Roefs (37) this campaign, making him the most viable contender for the Goalkeeper of the Season award.
Micky van de Ven is now the first Tottenham defender in 12 years to score two goals in the same EPL game, mirroring Jan Vertonghen’s achievement against Liverpool in March 2013.
And still with defences, Alex Iwobi is now only the fifth African player to get to 300 Premier League appearances, after Kolo Toure (353), Mohamed Salah (310), Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew (305 each).
최고/최악의 VAR 판정
How sure are we that Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo was not deserving of a penalty against Brentford? Not very. There was clear contact, no touch on the ball from Nathan Collins and also no whistle from the referee.
This is one of those decisions that could easily have swung the game in a team’s favour, as Liverpool were trailing 1-0 at the time and would most likely have levelled the score with a penalty. Instead, it ended up being 2-0 for Brentford not long after…
A good example of VAR use came in the second half of the same game, when the referee was directed to the monitor to view Virgil van Dijk’s foul on Dango Ouattara and correctly decide that the contact took place on the line of the box. This turned a free-kick into a penalty and sealed the champions’ fate at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Chemsdine Talbi’s first goal for Sunderland came in the third minute of injury time of his cameo at Stamford Bridge.
가장 재미있는 순간
Not necessarily funny, but rather ironic: Mohamed Salah finally scored his first goal for Liverpool in seven games, yet it was nowhere near enough to beat Brentford, a side who many tipped for relegation before the start of the season.
Just how much will these four consecutive wins will impact Liverpool’s title defence?
