Chelsea in No Hurry to Sell Players

A report by Sky Sports tells us that while Chelsea will need to part ways with some of their players in order to comply with PSR rules, the deadline for their books is summer 2025, so the Blues do not feel the pressure to ship out players this month.

As of now, the clubs that need to balance their books by selling players before the end of June 2024 are Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester City, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

PSR rules dictate a maximum loss allowance of £105 million over 3 years.

INEOS Looking to Sell Club

Manchester United minority owners INEOS are looking to sell French club Nice, according to The Independent.

As INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has fulfilled a lifetime ambition of being involved with United, he is prepared to part ways with Nice in order to focus on the Old Trafford club.

This comes amid expectations that the 2 clubs will be granted a transition period of one season by UEFA, competing in the Europa League. However, due to the continental federations strict multi-club ownership rules, the situation needs addressing in the near future.

EPL Games in the US?

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner is “determined” to see a Premier League game played in New York and has a vision of English football being played all over the world.

“I’m determined one day to have a Premier League game be played in New York City,” Werner told the Financial Times.

“I even have the sort of crazy idea that there would be a day where we play one game in Tokyo, one game a few hours later in Los Angeles, one game a few hours later in Rio, one game a few hours later in Riyadh and make it sort of a day where football, where the Premier League, is celebrated.”
