EPL Transfer News: Elliott, Antony, Tottenham and More
Leipzig’s Interest in Harvey Elliott
Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have expressed interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott during the summer transfer window. According to The Athletic, the German side has made contact with the Premier League champions regarding a potential transfer. While discussions are currently underway, no deal has reached an advanced stage at this time.
Earlier in the window, Leipzig were already among the clubs keen on Elliott. The club is believed to have tabled two separate valuations: one deal exceeding £40 million including a buy-back option, and another over £50 million without the clause.
Speculation surrounding Harvey Elliott’s departure from Liverpool has persisted since 1 July. The 22-year-old featured in 18 Premier League matches last season, registering one goal and two assists. His standout moment came in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, where he scored the only goal of the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain in France. Despite Elliott’s heroics, Liverpool were eliminated after losing the return leg in a penalty shootout.
RB Leipzig reportedly view Elliott as a suitable successor to Xavi Simons, who is reportedly pushing for a move to Chelsea. If the transfer materialises, Simons is expected to join fellow Dutchman Jorrel Hato in London.
