EPL Transfer News: Manchester United, Isak, Donnarumma and More
Manchester United Focus on Benjamin Šeško
Manchester United have reportedly made RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško their top striker target this summer. The Red Devils are already engaged in early negotiations in an effort to secure his signature swiftly.
Their urgent search for a new No. 9 follows a lacklustre output last season from Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who combined for just seven Premier League goals — fewer than West Ham United’s Tomáš Souček managed individually. The pursuit initially considered players such as Randal Kolo Muani and even Jamie Vardy, with swap deals and creative loan proposals floated.
Recent reports indicate the shortlist has narrowed to just Šeško, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins dropped from contention. United have already made “informal contact” with RB Leipzig for their 22-year-old Slovenian striker. Previously, the club doubted Šeško’s readiness and balked at Leipzig’s valuation of more than £65.2 million, citing his need for “significant development”.
However, United’s stance appears to have shifted due to developments involving Alexander Isak. Speculation about Isak’s desire to leave Newcastle United prompted the Magpies to target Šeško themselves. With competition heating up, Manchester United were reportedly forced to “accelerate” their negotiations.
The outlook from Tyneside is grim. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle now consider Šeško “likely” to join Manchester United. In response, they have begun exploring other striker options, having already moved on from Liam Delap, João Pedro, Hugo Ekitiké, and Yoane Wissa. Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz is now the latest target on their growing shortlist.
Chelsea Open to Marc Guiu Loan Move
Chelsea are reportedly open to allowing young striker Marc Guiu to leave on loan for the upcoming Premier League season.
Guiu, who arrived from Barcelona last summer, made a notable impression by scoring six goals in seven matches during Chelsea’s successful UEFA Conference League campaign. However, his involvement in other competitions was limited, with no Premier League starts to his name. A hamstring injury sidelined him throughout March, April, and May, hampering his development.
With competition from Liam Delap, João Pedro, and Nicolas Jackson — assuming Jackson isn’t sold — Guiu’s prospects of regular minutes remain slim. Chelsea therefore see a loan as a logical next step for the Spanish teenager.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Sunderland are among three clubs showing interest in a loan deal. Chelsea are willing to approve a temporary move without a purchase option, provided the loan club agrees to pay 100% of Guiu’s wages.
Chelsea intend to keep Guiu within their long-term plans, expecting him to return for the 2025–26 season.
Meanwhile, Sunderland, preparing for their first Premier League campaign in eight years, have invested heavily, with several new arrivals. Their spending has topped £124 million, offset partially by the sales of Tom Watson and Jobe Bellingham to Brighton & Hove Albion and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
Randal Kolo Muani Agrees Juventus Deal
Manchester United target Randal Kolo Muani is reportedly on the verge of joining Juventus. According to journalist Nicolò Schira, Muani has reached a deal in principle to sign a five-year contract with the Italian giants.
This development further narrows United’s options in their striker search, reinforcing their focus on Šeško.
Liverpool Reach Agreement with Alexander Isak
Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Alexander Isak, offering a five-year contract worth £11.2 million annually. Though a deal with Newcastle United is not yet finalised, talks are expected to progress in the coming days.
Should the transfer proceed, it would not only mark a marquee signing for Liverpool but also directly affect Newcastle’s transfer strategy.
Newcastle’s Plans Following Isak’s Potential Departure
Newcastle are already planning for life after Alexander Isak. Spanish outlet Fichajes reports that the Magpies have identified three key targets, funded by Isak’s proposed £150 million sale to Liverpool.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško is earmarked as a direct replacement in the No. 9 role. Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella and Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié are also being considered to strengthen the squad ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.
Ten Hag Targets Reunion with Højlund
Bayer Leverkusen could be preparing a surprise move for Rasmus Højlund, with Erik ten Hag reportedly interested in reuniting with the Danish striker. CaughtOffside claims that RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Milan, Inter, Napoli, and Juventus are also monitoring Højlund’s situation, highlighting widespread interest in the 21-year-old.
Roma Pursue Claudio Echeverri
Roma are said to be chasing Manchester City’s Argentine prodigy Claudio Echeverri. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian club sees the young talent as a long-term investment.
Jahmai Simpson-Pusey Set for Celtic Loan
Manchester City defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is expected to join Celtic on loan. The Daily Record reports that the young centre-back will spend the 2025–26 season in Scotland to gain first-team experience.
PSG’s Donnarumma Attracts English and Overseas Interest
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is a hot commodity this summer. Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United have all made enquiries, according to SportsZone.
However, Al Ittihad and Galatasaray are thought to be offering astronomical financial packages, including a £17.2 million annual salary — figures which could price the Premier League clubs out of contention.
Real Madrid Reject Newcastle’s Bid for Lunin
Real Madrid have turned down Newcastle United’s £2.6 million loan offer for goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, writes CaughtOffside. With uncertainty surrounding their own goalkeeping options, Madrid appear unwilling to part with the Ukrainian international.
Arsenal Eye Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to revive their interest in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo. According to Fichajes, any move hinges on extracting £13 million from Borussia Dortmund for Leandro Trossard.
Madrid are believed to be flexible on their valuation, lowering the initial demand to £64.7 million plus £8.6 million in bonuses.
Despite this, Football Transfers suggests that Arsenal’s top target remains Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The Gunners are prioritising the England international as they look to add creativity and flair to their midfield and attack.
