EPL Transfer News: Guehi to Liverpool, TAA Back to Prem and More
Liverpool’s Pursuit of Marc Guéhi
Liverpool are pushing to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guéhi in a deal worth more than £30 million this summer. However, the transfer depends on Palace’s willingness to negotiate and their ability to secure a replacement before the window closes on Monday.
The 25-year-old defender is entering the final year of his contract, becoming a free agent next summer, which has made the Reds hesitant to meet Palace’s full asking price, which is believed to be £45 million. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool are eager to strike a deal at around £30 million, though much rests on Palace’s stance.
Talks between the Merseyside club and Guéhi are ongoing, with the England international keen on a move to Anfield. Arne Slot has reason to strengthen at the back, with Liverpool’s defensive frailties already exposed this season, most recently when they surrendered a two-goal lead in a chaotic Premier League win over ten-man Newcastle United on Monday night.
Kostas Tsimikas Targeted by Roma
Meanwhile, Roma have approached Liverpool over a season-long loan move for Kostas Tsimikas. The Greek left back has slipped further down the pecking order following the arrival of Milos Kerkez, making him third choice.
Liverpool, however, are pushing for a permanent transfer rather than a loan, keen to accelerate his departure before the deadline. According to The Athletic, Roma see Tsimikas as a strong fit and are prepared to offer him an escape route. The player himself prefers a move abroad and is eager to join a club involved in UEFA competition.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Madrid Struggles
In a surprising twist, Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly out of favour at Real Madrid. With Dani Carvajal expected to retain his status as the club’s first-choice right back, doubts have been cast over the England international’s long-term role in Spain.
Manchester City are said to be monitoring the situation closely and could be preparing a potential swoop should Alexander-Arnold look to retour en Premier League. (Source: CaughtOffside)

Chelsea Face Competition for Xavi Simons
Chelsea’s move for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons is under threat, with Bayern Munich seeking to hijack the deal. According to Bild, the Blues are far from finalising terms, leaving the door open for the German champions.
Tottenham Hotspur have also emerged as suitors, with The Telegraph reporting that Spurs could swoop for the Dutch playmaker should Chelsea falter in their pursuit.
Leeds United Eye Kobbie Mainoo
Newly promoted Leeds United are reportedly interested in Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who is seeking a way out of Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has long been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham, but Leeds’ arrival into the race adds an unexpected twist. (Source: CaughtOffside)

West Ham Reignite Goalkeeper Hunt
West Ham United are once again in the market for a new goalkeeper. Dissatisfied with the performances of summer signing Mads Hermansen, the Hammers have renewed their pursuit of Botafogo’s John Victor.
The Brazilian shot-stopper has been a long-standing target and continues to be linked with both West Ham and Manchester United. (Source: talkSPORT)
