Chelsea have reportedly held discussions with Manchester United over the potential transfer of striker Nicolas Jackson. United recently added Jackson to their summer striker shortlist, following Chelsea’s acquisitions of Liam Delap and João Pedro earlier in the transfer window.
AC Milan were among the first clubs to enquire about Jackson’s availability, but they were quickly informed by Chelsea that a fee of £100 million would be required. Although Chelsea are unlikely to insist on that figure, they have no intention of entertaining cut-price offers.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea communicated this stance to Manchester United, stressing that Jackson is not officially for sale. However, the club would be open to considering strong offers for the Senegalese forward.
At present, Manchester United have not progressed with their interest and are yet to decide on their preferred striker target. Their focus has been on Bryan Mbeumo, with a deal for the Brentford star reportedly finalised over the weekend.
Manchester United Explore Goalkeeper Swap Deal for Emiliano Martínez
Manchester United are weighing up the option of proposing a swap deal to Aston Villa for goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. Manager Ruben Amorim is keen to reinforce the goalkeeper position, especially following André Onana’s recent injury. However, the club is prioritising other areas of the squad.
In an effort to remain financially prudent, Fabrizio Romano reports that United have discussed the possibility of acquiring Martínez through a straight swap. The identity of the players United would include in the deal remains undisclosed.
Although United are yet to make an official approach to Villa, they are well aware that Martínez is interested in a move to Old Trafford during this transfer window.
