Manchester City to Face Severe Punishment?
According to football finance expert Dr. Dan Plumley, Manchester City could be facing “significant penalties” for their 115 PSR charges.
“Manchester City could be set for significant penalties”, he said. “I don’t think the rumoured penalties of Manchester City facing expulsion or relegation from the Premier League are sensationalised at all.”
Dr. Plumley believes that the possibility of Manchester City getting relegated due to financial mismanagement is real.
Manchester United Learn Europa League Fate
UEFA has given United the green light to take part in next season’s UEL following a decision regarding their eligibility.
Due to part-owners INEOS also controlling French side Nice, there was uncertainty about whether both teams would be allowed to play Europa League football in 2024/25.
The news comes as a relief for the Red Devils, but UEFA might change how multi-club ownership affects participation in European competitions in coming years. For the time being, there is a ‘blind trust’ policy that works as a temporary alternative which is “granted on an exceptional basis for the 2024/25 UEFA competitions.
