Los mejores pronósticos de FPL para la segunda semana
Week 1 got off to a fantastic start, even though we had some unexpected outcomes. More teams blanked than we expected, and there were even two matches that drew total blanks from both sides. In the end, we have been able to get the lay of the land for the 2025/26 edition of the Fantasy Premier League game and see which teams could provide exciting assets that we can bank on for the 2025/26 season.
Let us now take a closer look at gameweek 2 and make our best picks according to careful analysis of the actions of each team from gameweek 1.
Análisis de la semana
The second gameweek looks like this:
- West Ham United v Chelsea
- Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur
- AFC Bournemouth v Wolverhampton Wanderers
- Brentford v Aston Villa
- Burnley v Sunderland
- Arsenal v Leeds United
- Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest
- Everton v Brighton and Hove Albion
- Fulham v Manchester United
- Newcastle United v Liverpool
As is typical of a Premier League weekend, there are many interesting matchups to choose from. More signings are still coming on board different teams, like Douglas Luiz, for example, who could be making his second debut in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest following his transfer from Juventus.
The two most exciting signings of the summer, Viktor Gyökeres (£9.0m) and Benjamin Šeško (£7.5m), disappointed managers in gameweek 1, but an argument can be made for the kind of match they made their debuts in. Now, both sides have favourable fixtures in week 2, which managers will be licking their lips and rubbing their palms ahead of.
Best Differential Picks for Game Week 2
Some managers have already deployed their Wildcard chips thanks to the massive change that sees all chips doubled for the two halves of the league season. This is why this section has become important, as managers will be looking to bring in cheap options they can do away with as quickly as possible.
Here are our best differential picks for gameweek 2 of the 2025/26 FPL season.
Evanilson (£7.0m) — Bournemouth
Bournemouth played a wonderful game at Anfield on opening day, and the star man, Antoine Semenyo, bagged the headlines. However, Brazilian striker Evanilson had an attacking performance that was just as good as the Ghana international, with three shots (same as Semenyo), all of which came in the box.
Bournemouth had ten shots in total in the game, and their striker having three is good tidings. Bournemouth also have a favourable run for the next five weeks, making Evanilson a good differential pick for week 2. He’s also in only 2% of managers’ teams and is going to be the Cherries’ main penalty taker, thanks to Justin Kluivert (£7.0m) being out due to injury.
Jørgen Strand Larsen (£6.5m) — Wolves
Wolves still have a defence issue, which means that it will be quite a bold decision to select any of their players. Defence is the backbone of football, after all, and strong performances in that area typically translate to great ones on the other end of the pitch, where Strand Larsen operates. Still, in their opening day loss, the former Celta Vigo man had four shots for the Old Gold, all in the box against Manchester City, which is no mean feat. At only 4% ownership, he could turn out to be a surprise package that boosts your points haul.
Oscar Bobb (£5.5m) — Manchester City
Another Norwegian features in our best differentials list, and this time around, it’s Manchester City’s youngster, Oscar Bobb, who played the full 90 minutes on opening day. Pep Guardiola might choose to do what he does best, which is rotate wildly, but if Bobb was trusted enough to play 90 minutes on day 1, there is a big chance he will be getting more opportunities like this. At worst, he is a good option to have off the bench and at just 0.2% ownership, we believe he is a steal.
Los mejores partidos para la selección de activos
After careful consideration of each team’s chances, below are the matches where we believe FPL managers can get good returns from and should be considered for asset selection.
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest
Eberechi Eze (£7.5m) will be playing his last game for the Eagles before moving to Arsenal following the confirmation of his transfer across London. He will be looking to give a wonderful goodbye gift to the club that took a chance on him and gave him a Premier League career, especially after how his wonderful free kick was denied by the referee last gameweek.
The usual suspects, Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m), Daniel Muñoz (£5.5m) and Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m) will also take centre stage, along with the important Nottingham Forest men Ola Aina (£5.0m), Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m) and the indefatigable Chris Wood (£7.6m) who will show the Eagles that they’re no longer minnows. This promises to be the most exciting game of the week, which means managers will do well to select as many assets as they can from this game.
Burnley v Sunderland
Two newly-promoted sides meeting in the Premier League is always a good fixture to select options from. Sunderland shocked West Ham last week with a huge win, and though they couldn’t get the better of Burnley (overall) last season, they look poised to do so now that they’re playing top-flight football.
Best FPL Players for Gameweek 2
Cole Palmer (£10.5m) — Chelsea
Palmer’s performances last season made him one of the premium assets of the game and a must-have player in the mould of Mo Salah (£14.5m), Erling Haaland (£14.0m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.0m). He was one of the most selected assets for last gameweek and will be for quite some time. However, gameweek 2 is the best time for managers who have not selected him to do so because Chelsea are facing off against West Ham United.
Antoine Semenyo (£7.0m) — Bournemouth
This is one of the most obvious choices for gameweek 2, especially after his brace against Liverpool last time out. The Cherries take on Wolves at home, who, without Matheus Cunha (£8.0m), have lost their bite.
Bournemouth also have a favourable run for the next four gameweeks with Spurs, Brighton, Newcastle, and Leeds all lined up after Wolves, making his acquisition a good investment.
Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) — Aston Villa
Watkins did not have a great start to the 2025/26 Premier League season, but so did the rest of his teammates. There was a blank for attacking returns across the board, but now, they all have a chance to face the unstable Brentford in week 2, whose new manager, Keith Andrews, is still trying to understand the Premier League. The Bees shipped three goals to Forest last week, and against Aston Villa, they could ship even more. Watkins is the frontman of the Villans, making him a great pick for the week.
