EPL Transfer News: Son, Isak, Chelsea and More
Son Heung-min Nearing Landmark Move to LAFC
LAFC are close to completing one of the most headline-grabbing transfers in Major League Soccer history, as they edge closer to securing Tottenham Hotspur star and club captain Son Heung-min.
Negotiations have reportedly reached an advanced stage, with personal terms nearly agreed between the MLS Western Conference side and Son, who is entering the final year of his contract with Spurs. This move signals a potential new chapter both for Son and for Tottenham, who have just begun a new era under recently appointed manager Thomas Frank.
According to GIVEMESPORT, discussions are intensifying, and while Saudi Arabian clubs remain interested in hijacking the deal, LAFC are firmly in the driving seat. The club has also been linked with a move for former Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller, as they look to bolster their attacking ranks.
Spurs, while not actively seeking to part ways with the 33-year-old forward, are not expected to prevent Son from pursuing a different direction late in his career. Last season, the South Korean international was plagued by injuries, missing seven Premier League matches during a catastrophic campaign in which Tottenham finished a lowly 17th.
Manchester United Target PSG’s Kolo Muani to Solve No. 9 Crisis
Manchester United are actively pursuing Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani as they look to solve their glaring issues in the striker position ahead of the 2025–26 الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز الموسم.
With less than a month remaining until the new campaign kicks off, United’s options for a true No. 9 have dwindled. The club have already missed out on Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitiké, and Viktor Gyökeres, who have joined Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal respectively.
Christopher Nkunku has been mentioned as a potential option, but his preference for playing out wide or in an advanced midfield role does not align with United’s need for a central striker.
ESPN reports that Manchester United are now targeting the unsettled PSG forward Kolo Muani, who spent the second half of the 2024–25 season on loan at Juventus. Since joining the Parisian side in 2023–24, the French international has managed just 11 goals in 54 appearances and is not part of manager Luis Enrique’s plans moving forward.
Kolo Muani is understood to be pushing for a move away from the Parc des Princes and could be available either on loan or via a permanent transfer worth around £43.4 million. Compared to Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund — who collectively scored just seven league goals last term — Kolo Muani offers a significant upgrade. He could potentially spearhead Ruben Amorim’s revamped forward line, which now includes Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
Antonin Kinský Set for Spurs Loan Exit Amidst Lille Interest
Tottenham Hotspur may sanction a loan move for goalkeeper Antonin Kinský, who joined the club in January and made a notable impact in his debut.
Signed during the winter window following a serious ankle injury to Guglielmo Vicario, the highly-rated Czech keeper impressed in his first appearance against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semifinals. However, after committing crucial errors in FA Cup losses to Arsenal and Aston Villa, Kinský lost his starting spot upon Vicario’s return.
Despite these setbacks, the 22-year-old made ten appearances last season and showed glimpses of the potential that prompted Spurs to bring him in. Some pundits even believe it is only a matter of time before Kinský takes over the No. 1 role in north London.
Nevertheless, reports from L’Equipe suggest Spurs are open to a loan for the young shot-stopper, with French side Lille currently in negotiations. The Ligue 1 outfit may lose current first-choice Lucas Chevalier to PSG, who face uncertainty around Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future.
This proposed move could provide Kinský with valuable first-team opportunities he is unlikely to receive under Thomas Frank in the upcoming season.
United Submit Bid for Sporting Midfielder Morten Hjulmand
Manchester United are also targeting midfield reinforcements and have submitted an official offer to sign Sporting CP’s Morten Hjulmand, according to Calciomercato.
Although the Danish international has a release clause of £70 million, Sporting are reportedly willing to accept a fee in the region of £43.7 million.
Liverpool Closing In on Newcastle Striker Alexander Isak
Liverpool have reached a contractual agreement with Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak over a five-year deal, reports Sky Sports Switzerland.
The Reds are now preparing a formal bid of £100 million, though they anticipate that negotiations could push the final deal closer to £120 million.
Securing Isak would be a significant addition for Liverpool as they prepare for a new era, with the Swedish striker viewed as a long-term solution to lead their attacking line.
Chelsea Plan Swap Deal for Morgan Rogers
Chelsea are working on a deal to bring Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers to Stamford Bridge and are reportedly prepared to offer both Nicolas Jackson and Tosin Adarabioyo in exchange, as per National World.
The Blues are also ready to include a cash component in the deal. Meanwhile, The i Paper claims Newcastle are engaged in talks with Chelsea over a potential deal for Jackson, who is valued at £65 million.
These moves are part of Chelsea’s summer overhaul as they seek to reshuffle their squad ahead of the new season.
Spurs Eye Rodrygo as Potential Son Replacement
Should Son Heung-min complete his anticipated move to LAFC, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as a marquee replacement, reports TBR Football.
The Brazil international is said to be open to making the move, which could help maintain Spurs’ attacking firepower despite the potential loss of their long-time captain.
Arsenal Face Fight to Retain Max Dowman
Arsenal are at risk of losing their 15-year-old midfield prospect Max Dowman to European giants Real Madrid, according to Fichajes.
Dowman has reportedly impressed manager Mikel Arteta during preseason, and the Spanish side are eager to lure him to Madrid in a bid to further bolster their youth setup.
Manchester City’s Jahmai Simpson-Pusey Draws Continental Interest

The 19-year-old could leave either on loan or in a permanent deal, with multiple clubs tracking his development.
Chelsea Nearing Simons Deal as Leipzig Pursue Leicester’s El Khannouss
As Chelsea close in on the signing of Xavi Simons, Foot Mercato reveals that RB Leipzig are targeting Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss as a replacement.
Meanwhile, TBR Football has listed Newcastle and Tottenham as clubs also interested in the Belgian midfielder, indicating a potentially competitive race for his signature.
