Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours
Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.
Premier League Joins Lawsuit
The Premier League has joined other European leagues in a legal action against FIFA regarding the overloading of the football calendar. The global entity is accused of “an abuse of dominance”.
The collective entity ‘European leagues’, comprised of 31 members, claims that FIFA is disregarding player welfare and devaluing competitions. FIFPRO, the federation which represents professional football players, is jointly filing the lawsuit.
The proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back and incited this legal action is the new format of the Club World Cup, organised by FIFA, which will see an expansion from seven to 32 teams from next year’s edition.
