EPL Players at Copa America 2024 – Day 3
Day 2 of the tournament only had one game, a 0-0 draw between Peru and Chile that saw no Prem players involved. Day 3 was a different story, as we were treated to two games. As part of our EPLNews Copa America report, here is how Premier League players involved in the tournament performed.
Ecuador 1-2 Venezuela
It was a sizeable surprise win for Venezuela in Santa Clara, who managed to overcome an underperforming Ecuador team that played with 10 men since the 22nd minute due to a red card to Enner Valencia.
Two EPL players were involved, and both for Ecuador, in the shapes of Moises Caicedo and Jeremy Sarmiento. The latter also scored their team’s only goal of the game just before half time. He was also booked and subbed off around the hour mark.

Mexico 1-0 Jamaica
The other game of the third day saw Mexico win their opening game against Jamaica thanks to a goal from Gerardo Arteaga.
Premier League players were not so lucky in this contest, as the likes of Michail Antonio and Bobby De Cordova-Reid found little joy for Jamaica, while Edson Alvarez captained his side but only took part in the first half hour of the game, having to come off with an injury.
