EPL Transfer News: Eze, Gyökeres, Sunderland and More
Arsenal Lead Race for Crystal Palace Star Eberechi Eze
Eberechi Eze is reportedly eager to complete a summer switch to Arsenal, with Tottenham Hotspur appearing to cool their interest in the Crystal Palace midfielder.
Although Spurs have long admired the 27-year-old and were tipped to pursue him after clinching a spot in the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League, reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein confirm that Tottenham have yet to make a move this window.
Arsenal are now considered frontrunners and are giving ‘serious consideration’ to signing Eze. Any potential deal for the playmaker is expected to operate independently of the club’s plans to sign a new striker and winger. The Gunners are believed to be weighing up Benjamin Šeško and Viktor Gyökeres as centre-forward options, while Rodrygo and Noni Madueke are leading candidates for the flanks.
Fabrizio Romano has added further credibility to the reports, stating that Arsenal have entered “direct contact” with Eze, who is understood to be “open” to the move.
The Palace star’s current contract includes a £68.5 million release clause, which the club is open to being paid in instalments. However, Arsenal are aiming to negotiate a reduced fee. Eze, notably, was released from Arsenal’s academy at 13, making a return to north London potentially symbolic for the Englishman.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu could be on the move this summer following a well-publicised dispute with Inter captain Lautaro Martínez.
According to Orazio Accomando, Premier League sides Manchester United and Fulham have made “inquiries” for the Serie A midfield maestro. A deal worth £34.6 million is said to be enough to secure the Turkish international’s services.
Sadio Mané Attempts to Lure Luis Díaz to Al Nassr
Sadio Mané is reportedly spearheading efforts to convince Liverpool winger Luis Díaz to join Al Nassr, where he currently plays alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Díaz’s openness to leaving Anfield has been linked to his perceived modest salary of £50,000 per week. However, Liverpool Echo disputes this figure, stating that the Colombian is actually entitled to a far higher wage of £140,000 weekly.
Despite rumoured interest from European giants such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the influence of Al Nassr’s stars may yet sway the winger’s decision.
Arsenal Closing in on Viktor Gyökeres Deal
The Gunners are actively pursuing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, with multiple reports suggesting advanced negotiations.
According to L’Équipe, Arsenal are close to an agreement with Sporting. Meanwhile, Football Transfers states that personal terms on a five-year deal have already been settled between the player and the Premier League club.
Whether the two clubs can reach a consensus on the final fee remains to be seen.
Rodrygo’s Arsenal Interest Grows Amid PSG Competition
Still with Arsenal, it is reported that the Londoners are increasingly confident of sealing a deal for Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
TBR Football reports that the Brazilian winger is likely to “make it clear” he intends to leave after participating in the Club World Cup. Arsenal hope to capitalise on this, although competition looms large from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to PSG Talk, the reigning European champions are also keen on Rodrygo, with a potential price tag of £84.5 million.
Newcastle Determined to Keep Alexander Isak

Football Insider claims the Magpies are preparing a record-breaking new contract for the Swedish striker in a bid to ward off any summer advances.

Although Ederson has confirmed his commitment to Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s side may still look to bolster their goalkeeping ranks.
Fichajes reports that City are eyeing a move for Porto’s Diogo Costa, who carries a valuation of £64.8 million.
Sunderland Target Chelsea Keeper Đorđe Petrović
Sunderland appear to be closing in on a £21.6 million deal for Chelsea’s out-of-favour goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović.
Sacha Tavolieri suggests that the Black Cats are in advanced negotiations for the Serbian shot-stopper, who is eager to secure regular first-team football.
Chelsea Prepared to Offload Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke
Chelsea are reportedly open to selling both Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke in the current transfer window.
According to Football Insider, the Blues are actively seeking buyers for the two wingers as they look to reshape their squad under Enzo Maresca’s leadership.
