EPL Transfer News: Eze, Nunez, Forest and More

The summer transfer window is in full swing now, with Premier League giants preparing their squads for the upcoming season. From Tottenham’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s standout star to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recruitment efforts in Saudi Arabia, here’s a roundup of the biggest stories making headlines.

Tottenham Eye Eberechi Eze as Thomas Frank’s Era Begins

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a major move for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. The talented midfielder could become the first marquee signing under incoming manager Thomas Frank, with The Guardian revealing Spurs’ strong interest.

Manchester United have also been in the running for Eze, especially in light of their summer midfield revamp. The club sees Eze as a perfect fit for the No. 10 role in Ruben Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 formation, working in tandem with recent signing Matheus Cunha.

Spurs, however, seem more aggressive in their approach. With Mathys Tel now a permanent fixture in north London and a £5 million deal for Japanese centre-back Kota Takai nearing completion, Tottenham are expected to shift their focus to Eze. Given the player’s £68 million release clause, active this summer per the Daily Mail, the North London side are reportedly confident the winger is “open to a move” within the capital, despite lingering interest from United.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro Could Reunite at Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo’s ambitions to strengthen Al Nassr have taken a familiar turn. According to Sport Jazirah, the Portuguese icon is closing in on a deal to reunite with his former Real Madrid and Manchester United teammate Casemiro.

In addition, Ronaldo has reportedly expressed a desire to lure another Manchester United talent to Saudi Arabia—Alejandro Garnacho. This comes after confirming his own commitment to remain in the Saudi Pro League next season, showcasing his influence in Al Nassr’s recruitment efforts.

Mourinho Lures Sancho to Fenerbahçe

Meanwhile, another familiar face from Old Trafford is making headlines. Former Manchester United manager José Mourinho has convinced Jadon Sancho to join him at Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. As reported by Sabah Spor, Sancho has accepted a lucrative £8.6 million annual salary offer.

The move could be a pivotal restart for Sancho, who has struggled for form at United in recent seasons and found himself sidelined from the squad under Erik ten Hag.

Manchester City Target Flamengo’s Wesley Amid Competition

Manchester City are prioritising the signing of a new right back this summer, with Flamengo’s Wesley emerging as a key target. However, The Athletic reports that City are facing stiff competition from Brighton & Hove Albion and Juventus, both of whom have expressed interest in the Brazilian defender.

Securing Wesley’s signature is seen as vital for Pep Guardiola’s tactical setup going into the 2025–26 season.

Napoli Consider Núñez and Højlund for Striker Role

Over in Italy, Napoli’s new boss Antonio Conte is eyeing reinforcements in attack. According to CaughtOffside, the Serie A champions are currently assessing moves for Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez and Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund.

Although Conte reportedly prefers Højlund, the negotiations for Núñez are believed to be further along. The final decision may hinge on financial feasibility and player willingness.

Arsenal Pursue PSG’s Barcola but Face Obstacles

Arsenal are in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain prodigy Bradley Barcola. The winger is also attracting attention from Bayern Munich and Liverpool, according to L’Équipe. However, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano insists PSG have no plans to sell the Frenchman.

In fact, the Parisian club may even offer Barcola an improved contract to deter potential suitors, reinforcing their intent to build around youth for the future.

Chelsea Monitor Randal Kolo Muani as Striker Reinforcement

Despite already having Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap in their attacking arsenal, Chelsea are keeping tabs on PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani. Football Insider claims the French international, who impressed during his loan spell at Juventus, is being considered as a long-term option at Stamford Bridge.

Kolo Muani’s pace, physicality and clinical finishing make him a tempting prospect for Chelsea’s evolving front line.

Arsenal Poised to Launch Bid for Viktor Gyökeres

After months of speculation and public remarks from the Sporting CP president, Arsenal appear ready to make a formal offer for Viktor Gyökeres. CaughtOffside reports that the Gunners will launch a bid worth £64 to 68.5 million to secure the Swedish striker’s services.

This would mark a significant statement of ambition from Mikel Arteta’s side as they seek a proven No. 9 to lead their attack.

Newcastle’s £45m Bid for Elanga Rejected by Forest

Newcastle United have made a bold £45 million offer for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, according to The Athletic. The Swedish winger has been instrumental for Forest, and the club has reportedly rejected Newcastle’s approach outright.

Having signed Elanga from Manchester United for a much lower fee just two years ago, Forest are keen to hold on to their prized asset as they aim for Premier League stability.

Jordan Henderson Could Return to Premier League

Nottingham Forest are also making headlines with potential incomings. The Daily Mail reports that the club is interested in bringing Jordan Henderson back to the Premier League from Ajax.

The former Liverpool captain could bring leadership and experience to Forest’s midfield, should the deal materialise.

Real Madrid Set Asking Price for Rodrygo Amid Arsenal Interest

Real Madrid are open to selling Brazilian winger Rodrygo this summer—for the right price. According to Cadena SER, the Spanish giants would entertain offers of around £77 million.

Arsenal are reportedly “seriously interested” in the forward, with multiple outlets confirming Mikel Arteta’s admiration for the player’s flair, work rate and versatility across the frontline.

Stay tuned as clubs across the Premier League continue to finalise their transfer strategies, aiming to bolster their squads before the new season kicks off.
