Norwich vs Brighton FA Cup Report

Scorers: Rutter 37’ 45+2’, Enciso 60’, March 74’

Brighton & Hove Albion eased into the FA Cup fourth round with a commanding 4-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Georginio Rutter’s first-half brace set the tone for a dominant performance, with Julio Enciso and Solly March adding to the tally in what was a one-sided affair.

First Half: Rutter Steals the Show

Brighton quickly asserted their dominance under Fabian Hurzeler’s guidance, showcasing their Premier League pedigree against a struggling Norwich side.

Despite the home crowd’s support, the Canaries were pinned back for much of the first half as the Seagulls dictated play.

Georginio Rutter opened the scoring in the 37th minute, capitalising on Brighton’s sustained pressure.

The forward doubled the lead shortly before halftime, expertly finishing a well-orchestrated move to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 advantage heading into the break.

Second Half: Brighton Extend Their Control

Norwich’s hopes of a comeback were dashed early in the second half when Julio Enciso added a third goal with just over 30 minutes remaining. The Paraguayan midfielder finished with composure, further underlining Brighton’s superiority.

Brighton’s dominance allowed Hurzeler to make changes, and substitute Solly March made an instant impact. March rounded off the scoring late on, converting with precision to complete the rout and seal Brighton’s place in the next round.

What’s Next?

Brighton march into the FA Cup fourth round with momentum and confidence, continuing their strong season. Norwich, meanwhile, will return to Championship action with much to ponder as they aim to reignite their push for promotion.
