EPL Transfer News: Garnacho, Barcola, Tottenham and More
Chelsea Close In on Alejandro Garnacho
Chelsea have reportedly finalised “every detail” of personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, edging closer to sealing his move to Stamford Bridge.
Despite already securing the signings of Liam Delap, João Pedro and Jamie Gittens earlier this summer, the Blues remain active in their pursuit of more attacking reinforcements. Garnacho has been a long-standing target, and talks progressed into “advanced” territory earlier this week.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have an agreement in place with the Argentine winger, who is said to be eager to join the west London side after being informed he could leave Old Trafford. Garnacho’s relationship with United boss Ruben Amorim reportedly broke down, leading to his inclusion in the club’s five-man “bomb squad” alongside Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. Of that group, only Rashford has departed so far, joining Barcelona on a season-long loan.
With negotiations moving forward, Garnacho is expected to complete his switch before the current transfer window closes.
Arsenal Reignite Interest in Rodrygo
Arsenal, who have already spent over £200 million this summer, are reportedly eyeing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo on loan for the 2025–26 campaign.
The Brazilian returned to training at Valdebebas with the rest of Los Blancos but faces an uncertain future in Madrid, with rumours of a potential exit intensifying after the FIFA Club World Cup. Earlier in the summer, Arsenal appeared to be in pole position to sign him, but prioritised the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres instead. Now, with the Swedish striker secured, the Gunners are understood to be revisiting their interest in Rodrygo.

According to The Times, Arsenal are exploring a loan deal to make room in their budget for both Rodrygo and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. Real Madrid’s current asking price for Rodrygo stands at £86.6 million, but no formal bids have yet been made, despite interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Bradley Barcola Likely to Stay at PSG
Bradley Barcola is expected to remain at Paris Saint-Germain despite drawing significant interest from European heavyweights.
The Frenchman enjoyed a stellar 2024–25 season, finishing as PSG’s second-highest scorer behind Ballon d’Or frontrunner Ousmane Dembélé. Yet, in the most decisive fixtures of the club’s treble-winning campaign, manager Luis Enrique often preferred Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué over the 22-year-old forward.
Liverpool have been linked with a move, with ESPN claiming the Premier League champions had two bids rejected this summer. Bayern Munich are also credited with an unsuccessful approach. PSG are said to have no intention of selling, a stance reportedly shared by Barcola himself. Liverpool are now expected to withdraw from the chase, partially due to Barcola’s reluctance to leave Paris and partly to ensure young talent Rio Ngumoha gets game time on the left wing.
AC Milan Push for Rasmus Højlund Loan
Manchester United have reportedly accepted an offer from AC Milan for striker Rasmus Højlund, who is yet to approve a move away from Old Trafford.

Højlund has repeatedly stated his wish to stay at United, but Thursday’s confirmation of a deal for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško—worth £73.8 million—has raised questions about his future. With Šeško set to lead the line alongside new arrivals Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, United may now be open to Højlund’s departure.
Italian outlet Gianluca Di Marzio claims Milan have agreed a loan deal with the option to buy next summer, with La Gazzetta dello Sport valuing a future permanent transfer at £30.4 million. The final decision rests with Højlund, as Milan continue efforts to persuade him to make the switch.
Benfica Enter Race for Antony
Benfica have entered the race to sign Manchester United’s Antony, joining Real Betis in pursuit of the Brazilian winger. CNN Portugal reports that while a loan is preferred, Benfica may consider purchasing a percentage of his rights.
Fenerbahçe Offered Alisson
Fenerbahçe, frustrated in their chase for Manchester City’s Ederson, have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Liverpool’s Alisson, according to Sabah.
Como Reject Tottenham Bid for Paz
In Italy, Como have rejected a £34.9 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for midfielder Nico Paz, valuing the player at £61.1 million.
Spurs Prepare Record Offer for Leão

Spurs are also said to be preparing a £87.2 million offer for AC Milan’s Rafael Leão, prioritising him ahead of Rodrygo.
City Eye Paquetá Swap Deal
Manchester City are keen on West Ham United’s Lucas Paquetá and could attempt to reduce his £50 million asking price by including Jack Grealish in a swap.
Grealish, meanwhile, is said by TEAMtalk to prefer a move to Tottenham over Everton to remain at the top level.
Chelsea Offer Jackson to Arsenal
Chelsea have offered Arsenal the chance to sign forward Nicolas Jackson, but CaughtOffside reports that the Gunners declined. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both showing interest in the Senegalese striker.
Wolves Target Chelsea Duo
Wolves are also linked with Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana and centre-back Axel Disasi, as reported by The Times and Simon Phillips respectively.
Wissa Keen to Leave Brentford
Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has reiterated his desire to leave, with GIVEMESPORT claiming Newcastle are preparing a fresh bid.
Roma See Echeverri Loan Bid Rejected

Roma’s loan proposal for Manchester City’s Claudio Echeverri has been turned down by Calciomercato, as City refuse to part with the 19-year-old.
Villa Reject McGinn Offer
Finally, Sky Sports News reports that Aston Villa have rejected an £18 million bid from Everton for captain John McGinn. Newcastle are also interested, but Villa remain adamant the Scotland international will not be sold.
