Premier League Fan Team of the Season 2024/25 Unveiled
The Premier League has officially announced the 2024/25 Fan Team of the Season, following a global fan vote that drew participation from millions of supporters worldwide.
Fans were given the opportunity to cast their votes and select a best XI from a 60-player shortlist. The final line-up comprises the top-voted players in each position: one goalkeeper, two full-backs, two central defenders, two central midfielders, two wide forwards, and two strikers. Importantly, each club was limited to a maximum of four selections.
Liverpool, the 2024/25 Premier League champions, lead the representation with three players. Arsenal and Nottingham Forest each feature two players in this prestigious team, which highlights standout performances throughout a thrilling campaign.
Goalkeeper
Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest)
Appearances: 38 | Wins: 19 | Draws: 8 | Losses: 11 | Clean Sheets: 13 | Saves: 120
Sels played a pivotal role in Nottingham Forest’s defensive resurgence this season. Since joining from RC Strasbourg, the Belgian goalkeeper has delivered consistent excellence, sharing the Golden Glove award. His leadership, composure, and numerous vital saves were instrumental under Nuno Espirito Santo, significantly bolstering the club’s backline.
Defenders
Daniel Muñoz (Crystal Palace)
Appearances: 37 | Wins: 13 | Draws: 14 | Losses: 10 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 5 | Clean Sheets: 11
Crystal Palace’s right flank gained dynamism and attacking spark thanks to Muñoz. The Colombian full-back impressed from the outset with his forward runs and direct approach. Under Oliver Glasner, Muñoz was given licence to attack, and he delivered in style, scoring four times and providing five assists.
William Saliba (Arsenal)
Appearances: 35 | Wins: 19 | Draws: 12 | Losses: 4 | Goals: 2 | Clean Sheets: 12
Saliba’s consistency and poise at the back were key to Arsenal’s league-leading defence. As the French centre-back took on more responsibility following Gabriel’s injury, his influence grew. His calmness, technical ability, and dominance in duels helped the Gunners concede only 34 goals, the fewest in the division.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Appearances: 37 | Wins: 25 | Draws: 9 | Losses: 3 | Goals: 3 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 14
Still among the finest centre-backs in world football, Van Dijk continued to command Liverpool’s defence with authority. The Dutch international, standing at 6ft 5in, made an impressive 190 clearances, providing a reliable presence in Arne Slot’s inaugural season. With three goals and an assist, Van Dijk contributed in both boxes.
Milos Kerkez (AFC Bournemouth)
Appearances: 38 | Wins: 15 | Draws: 11 | Losses: 12 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 5 | Clean Sheets: 9
Kerkez was undoubtedly one of the revelations of the season. The Hungarian full-back quickly adapted to the Premier League, flourishing under Andoni Iraola’s high-intensity system. Contributing two goals and five assists, Kerkez displayed tactical maturity and explosive pace throughout a breakout campaign.
Midfielders
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Appearances: 38 | Wins: 25 | Draws: 9 | Losses: 4 | Goals: 29 | Assists: 18
Salah enjoyed one of the greatest individual seasons in Premier League history. Winning both the Golden Boot and Playmaker Award, the Egyptian forward was at his prolific best. His 29 goals and 18 assists led Liverpool’s title-winning campaign and cemented his legendary status at Anfield.
Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
Appearances: 37 | Wins: 25 | Draws: 9 | Losses: 3 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 4
Though not prolific in front of goal, Gravenberch’s contributions in midfield were essential. The Dutch international offered a blend of physicality and technical prowess, enabling him to influence both defensive and attacking phases for the champions.
Declan Rice (Arsenal)
Appearances: 35 | Wins: 18 | Draws: 13 | Losses: 4 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 7
Rice’s transition to Arsenal has been seamless. Whether operating as a No. 6 or a No. 8, the England international showcased his versatility and leadership. His energy, intelligence, and dual-threat capabilities made him a vital cog in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)
Appearances: 38 | Wins: 16 | Draws: 8 | Losses: 14 | Goals: 20 | Assists: 7
Mbeumo produced his finest season to date, netting 20 goals — more than doubling his tally from each of the previous two campaigns. The Cameroonian forward’s partnership with Yoane Wissa powered Brentford’s push for European qualification, combining speed, flair, and end-product.
Strikers
Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
Appearances: 34 | Wins: 20 | Draws: 4 | Losses: 10 | Goals: 23 | Assists: 6
Isak continued his steady rise, finishing with 23 league goals, an improvement on his previous tally of 21. The Swedish striker is now firmly established as one of the most dangerous finishers in the league, leading the line for Newcastle United with finesse and physicality.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)
Appearances: 36 | Wins: 18 | Draws: 8 | Losses: 10 | Goals: 20 | Assists: 3
Chris Wood’s 2024/25 campaign will go down as the finest of his career. Scoring 20 goals, he not only guided Nottingham Forest’s European push, but also became their all-time Premier League top scorer, surpassing Bryan Roy. The New Zealand international made history in October by becoming the first Forest player — and the first Kiwi — to win the EA SPORTS Player of the Month.
