Crystal Palace vs Wolves Report

Scorers: Nketiah 27’, 32’, Chilwell 50’, Eze 86’; Agbadou 24’, Larsen 62’

Crystal Palace celebrated their return to Selhurst Park as newly-crowned FA Cup champions by securing a 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, extending their winning run in home Premier League H2Hs to five and maintaining their hopes of a top-half finish.

First Half – Nketiah at the Double

Despite a celebratory mood following their historic FA Cup triumph over Manchester City at Wembley, Palace were given an early wake-up call midway through the first half. Jørgen Strand Larsen’s header across the box found Emmanuel Agbadou, who nodded home for his first goal in Wolves colours.

Palace responded impressively and were back level within six minutes. Romain Esse’s pull-back from the byline was met by Eddie Nketiah, who swept a composed finish into the far corner. The in-form striker then doubled his tally just minutes later, turning in Ismaïla Sarr’s low ball after a clever lofted pass from Daniel Muñoz released the winger.

Second Half – Chilwell and Eze Seal Entertaining Victory

The hosts continued their momentum after the break and extended their lead when Ben Chilwell’s deflected free-kick wrong-footed Daniel Bentley and found the bottom corner. Wolves, however, refused to back down and pulled one back from another set-piece as Strand Larsen nodded in his sixth goal in eight matches from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s corner.

Gonçalo Guedes nearly levelled the game with a thumping volley from the right side of the area, but Dean Henderson, Palace’s FA Cup hero, pulled off a stunning one-handed save to preserve his side’s lead.

Palace wrapped up the win with four minutes remaining, as Eberechi Eze found space in the box and slotted home to put the game beyond doubt. It was a fitting finish to an action-packed game, securing Palace’s fifth consecutive unbeaten match in the PL and extending their strong record in home season finales.

Conclusion – Strong Finish Caps Historic Week for Palace

The result caps off a memorable week for Oliver Glasner’s side, who remain 12th in the table but could yet finish as high as 10th on the final day. Wolves, meanwhile, slumped to their third straight defeat after a great run of form recently, remaining 14th as their season peters out.
