Aston Villa vs Tottenham Report

Scorers: Konsa 59’, Kamara 73’

Aston Villa continued their fine home form and strengthened their grip on UEFA Champions League qualification with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park. Second-half goals from Ezri Konsa and Boubacar Kamara ensured the Villans extended their unbeaten home league run to 18 matches, while moving up to fourth in the table—at least temporarily.

First Half – Villa Dominant but Frustrated

With Champions League football in sight, Unai Emery’s men began brightly in front of a raucous Villa Park crowd. John McGinn fired over the bar from inside the box in the opening exchanges, before Emiliano Martínez was called into action to thwart a close-range effort from Wilson Odobert at the other end.

Villa largely dictated the tempo, with Morgan Rogers forcing Antonín Kinský into a smart save and Marco Asensio curling narrowly wide in two of the hosts’ better chances. Despite dominating the half, the Villans couldn’t break down a resilient Tottenham defence before the interval.

Second Half – Konsa and Kamara Seal the Points

The hosts emerged after the restart with greater purpose, and their efforts were finally rewarded just before the hour mark. A McGinn corner was met by Ollie Watkins, whose header was turned in by Ezri Konsa to give Villa the lead with his second goal of the season.

With Tottenham beginning to tire and offering little threat going forward, Villa continued to press and found their insurance goal in the 73rd minute. Boubacar Kamara latched onto a pass from Rogers and drilled a powerful low strike into the bottom corner—his first Premier League goal.

Conclusion – Champions League Charge Gains Momentum

It was a composed and professional display from Aston Villa, who eased through the final stages to record a ninth win in 11 league matches. With just two games remaining, Unai Emery’s men remain firmly in the hunt for a second straight top-four finish.

For Tottenham, focus now turns to the UEFA Europa League final next week, where they will hope to end a 17-year wait for silverware and salvage something from a very poor domestic campaign.
