Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Report

Scorer: Eze 45’, 48’

Crystal Palace continued their impressive end-of-season form with a commanding 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, equalling their best-ever Premier League points tally (49) and securing a deserved London derby triumph. Eberechi Eze netted a brace as the Eagles capitalised on a lethargic Spurs side still basking in the glow of their midweek UEFA Europa League semi-final triumph.

First Half – Palace Dominate as Eze Strikes Before the Break

Spurs were second best from the outset and were fortunate not to fall behind inside the opening 10 minutes. Ismaïla Sarr thought he had opened the scoring after latching onto Daniel Muñoz’s cutback, but Jean-Philippe Mateta was adjudged to be offside in the build-up.

The pressure from Palace didn’t relent, with Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsý twice called into action – first to deny Muñoz and then to react brilliantly to a close-range Mateta header. A deflected Eze strike further warned the hosts before the opener finally arrived on the stroke of half-time.

Muñoz once again surged forward and delivered a pinpoint ball into the path of Eze, who converted coolly from 10 yards out.

Second Half – Eze Adds Another as Spurs Offer Little Response

Tottenham’s second-half performance offered no improvement, and they were made to pay again as Palace hit on the break. Eze was instrumental once more, receiving the ball from Sarr and rifling home his second of the afternoon from the edge of the box, putting the game beyond doubt just before the hour mark.

The visitors looked more likely to add a third than concede, with Sarr curling an effort narrowly wide. In contrast, Spurs mustered just a single shot on target in a disjointed display that suggested their attention may have already turned to the upcoming Europa League final.

Conclusion – Palace Peaking at the Right Time

Crystal Palace’s strong finish to the campaign continued, with Oliver Glasner’s side now unbeaten in six league matches. The Eagles head into next weekend’s FA Cup final in buoyant mood, while Spurs slumped to their second league defeat in three games – a performance that will raise
