FPL Top Picks for Gameweek 32
It is time for week 32 of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League, and with that knowledge comes the realisation that the season is almost over.
As football fans, it is kind of sad, but as FPL managers, we are now in crunch time.
In truth, whatever strategies that may be deployed right now will have little effect on the outcome of your season come May 25, 2025, but at this point, it is all about finishing strong.
Luckily for many managers, week 32 is a double gameweek for Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, who will be playing their week 29 fixture just days after their various week 32 fixtures. As always, EPLNews has you covered as long as you read the following sections containing strategies to maximise this opportunity.
Gameweek Analysis
Newcastle United will host Manchester United first before Crystal Palace, who will be on the road for both their matches this week. The Eagles will first travel to Manchester City, then to Newcastle.
Both teams have important FPL assets such as Daniel Muñoz (£5.2m), Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.7m), Eberechi Eze (£6.8m), Alexander Isak (£9.5m) and Jacob Murphy (£5.1m). It is very clear that these assets cannot be sacrificed ahead of week 32.
This is also a week where the Triple Captain and Assistant Manager chips can be deployed. The two main options are, of course, Isak and Mateta for the captaincy, and their managers, Eddie Howe (Newcastle) and Oliver Glasner (Palace), for the Assistant Manager chip.
Palace have the tougher task in the week, however, having to face Man City before going up against Newcastle. Both teams are in the top five goalscoring sides in the Premier League this season, despite their stuttering performances at times. In fact, City are second behind league leaders Liverpool, despite sitting in sixth place on the log. They will also be playing without Erling Haaland (£14.8m), who is out injured until 10th May at the earliest. This gives them the freedom to explore different formations with the more versatile Omar Marmoush (£7.6m), who is one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment.
For this reason, many might want to trust Newcastle assets more, but as stated earlier, the prospect of a double haul is too big to sacrifice assets from Crystal Palace.
This is where the differential picks come in.
Differentials
Marcus Rashford (£6.7m), Marcos Asensio (£6.2m), Morgan Rogers (£5.6m), Donyell Malen (£5.3m) — Aston Villa
Aston Villa face Southampton in week 32, and across their attack they have players who cost below £7.0m. Any one of these choices is a great option to bolster your squad for week 32. Also, Villa will be involved in a double gameweek for week 33, which makes bringing any one (or more) of these players in for week 32 even more crucial.
Anthony Elanga (£5.5m) — Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest are in action against Everton in week 32 and then Tottenham Hotspur in week 33. Among all their assets, none is performing better than Anthony Elanga at the moment. Also, he could be a long-term buy as there is another double gameweek possibility in week 36, pending the outcome of their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City, making him a valuable asset.
Best FPL Players for Week 32
Mikel Merino (£6.1m) — Arsenal
Merino is Mikel Arteta’s new forward, thanks to the injury suffered by Kai Havertz, and his aerial threat will always be important for Arsenal, especially with Bukayo Saka (£10.4m) back in the fray.
Also, Merino will be very crucial in the coming weeks, starting with week 32, where he just came off scoring against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Arsenal’s next three opponents are Brentford (32), Ipswich Town (33) and AFC Bournemouth (34), making Merino a good pick for the long haul.
Alex Iwobi (£5.5m) — Fulham
Alexander Iwobi regressed for a bit but has found his form again, making him one of our top picks for week 32. The Nigerian midfielder is one of the catalysts for Fulham’s return to prominence. Their week 32 opponents are Bournemouth, who are regressing after an epic run in the earlier parts of 2025. Fulham’s next opponents after Bournemouth are Chelsea and Southampton. Against Chelsea, they stand an equal chance, but the Southampton match is theirs to lose, which makes it important to have Iwobi in your squad.
Mark Flekken (£4.4m) — Brentford
This is a bit of a risk, but Flekken is one of our top picks because of his save percentage. He currently has the most saves in the top five leagues in Europe (131 saves), which also makes him the best-performing goalkeeper in the Premier League in that regard. With every save now a potential points accumulator, having Flekken minding the net of your FPL squad in a week where he will be coming up against Arsenal could be a wise choice.
