Premier League Transfer News: Kane, Van Dijk, Zubimendi, and More in Major Summer Shake-Up
Liverpool have reportedly made a sensational £100m bid for Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, with the England captain interested in a return to the Premier League (Fichajes – Spain). The Reds face stiff competition for Kane’s signature, however, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United all showing interest in the forward.
Arsenal are pushing hard in the market and are said to be “very advanced” in their pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, aiming to beat both Liverpool and Real Madrid to the deal (AS – Spain). The Gunners are also targeting Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as part of their summer revamp (TEAMtalk).
Meanwhile, Barcelona have conceded defeat in their chase for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak due to financial constraints. Instead, they will ask the Swedish international to wait until 2026, when the club expects to be in a better financial position to make a move (El Nacional – Spain).
Arsenal are also monitoring Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka, whose future at the Italian club is uncertain. He has also attracted interest from Nottingham Forest and Real Madrid (La Gazzetta dello Sport – Italy).
In another bombshell report, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has reportedly decided to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer and is in discussions over a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (Fichajes – Spain).
Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are exploring a potential swap deal involving centre-backs Fikayo Tomori and Radu Dragusin, with the latter valued at around €30m (£25.1m) (Calciomercato.it – Italy). Spurs are also eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens as part of a broader squad rebuild (GIVEMESPORT).
Chelsea have joined the race for highly-rated Athletic Club winger Nico Williams and have already made contact with his representatives (TBR Football). In Germany, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are weighing up summer moves for Jadon Sancho, even if he secures a permanent move to Chelsea after his loan from Manchester United (GIVEMESPORT).
Manchester United, meanwhile, have pulled out of the race for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, valuing him at less than £50m, while Leipzig are holding out for at least £60m (Manutd Addicts). United have also dropped their interest in Xavi Simons, unwilling to meet Leipzig’s €80m (£66.9m) asking price (GIVEMESPORT).
However, United are not entirely out of the transfer market. They are interested in Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao, a player highly regarded by manager Ruben Amorim (The Mirror). Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert has also emerged as a fresh target for the Red Devils (CaughtOffside).
Manchester City are looking to bolster their goalkeeping options and have added Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to their summer shortlist (Tuttosport – Italy).
Elsewhere, Tottenham are leading the chase to sign Lille midfielder Angel Gomes on a free transfer, ahead of Aston Villa and West Ham (GIVEMESPORT).
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has ruled out a move to Nottingham Forest despite strong Premier League interest. The Swedish forward, who is expected to leave Sporting this summer, has caught the eye of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Newcastle United. According to Florian Plettenberg, Gyokeres is focused on joining a club with serious European ambitions. He previously named Arsenal, Liverpool, and City as his preferred destinations (various sources).
Finally, Real Madrid are believed to be “convinced” that Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen is the right long-term defensive signing. SPORT reports that contact has already been made with Huijsen’s camp, and Madrid are encouraged by the player’s response. Huijsen has a £50m (€60m) release clause and is seen as a better fit than former target Leny Yoro, who joined Manchester United last summer.
