Crystal Palace vs Ipswich Preview

  • Palace to win
  • Nketiah to score

Crystal Palace are enjoying one of the best runs of form in the Premier League, winning 27 points from the last 14 matches—a tally bettered only by Liverpool and Arsenal.

With back-to-back league victories behind them, the Eagles will be looking to make it three consecutive top-flight wins for the first time this season as they host struggling Ipswich Town.

However, Palace’s home form remains inconsistent, with just eight of their last 27 points coming at Selhurst Park. Despite that, they are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League home matches against sides in the relegation zone (W12, D6), which bodes well ahead of Ipswich’s visit.

Ipswich are in freefall, winless in the Premier League since the turn of the year (D2, L6). They come into this match five points adrift of safety and must improve drastically if they are to avoid making history by failing to win their first nine league matches of a calendar year for the first time ever.

After their FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest on penalties, Ipswich must now focus entirely on securing top-flight survival.

Encouragingly, 59% of their points have come on the road, but they will be haunted by their last visit to Selhurst Park, a 5-0 defeat back in 2012.

Key Stats & Facts

  • Crystal Palace have won 27 points in their last 14 matches—only Liverpool and Arsenal have collected more.
  • Palace are unbeaten in their last 18 home league games against teams starting the day in the relegation zone (W12, D6).
  • Ipswich are winless in eight Premier League matches in 2025 (D2, L6).
  • Seven of Ipswich’s last eight league games have seen them concede at least two goals.
  • Palace’s home form is inconsistent, with only eight of their last 27 points coming at Selhurst Park.
  • Ipswich have earned 59% of their total points away from home this season.
  • Their last trip to Selhurst Park ended in a 5-0 defeat (November 2012).

Crystal Palace: Can They Extend Their Hot Streak?

Palace have been in incredible form, but their biggest concern heading into this match is the absence of leading scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The French striker suffered a serious ear laceration in the FA Cup win over Millwall, requiring 25 stitches, and is expected to be sidelined.

Oliver Glasner’s team will need to maintain their momentum without him, but their historical dominance against relegation-threatened sides at home suggests they should still be favourites.

Recent Form (Last Five Premier League Matches)

  • Fulham 0-2 Crystal Palace – Win
  • Crystal Palace 2-0 Bournemouth – Win
  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Aston Villa – Loss
  • Nottingham Forest 7-0 Crystal Palace – Loss
  • Crystal Palace 2-2 Brighton – Draw

Key Player: Eddie Nketiah (Forward)

  • Has scored in back-to-back matches after finally breaking his Premier League goal drought.
  • Expected to replace Mateta as Palace’s main striker.
  • Quick, clinical, and dangerous in the box, he could prove pivotal in breaking Ipswich’s leaky defence.

Ipswich Town: Desperation for a First 2025 League Win

Ipswich’s poor form has dragged them into deep relegation trouble, and with their defence leaking goals, Kieran McKenna faces a massive challenge.

They will need to find inspiration on the road, where they have picked up 59% of their points this season. Their attack has shown glimpses of promise, with Jaden Philogene scoring a brace against Manchester United, but their defence remains a huge liability.

Recent Form (Last Five Premier League Matches)

  • Ipswich 1-1 Aston Villa – Draw
  • Tottenham 4-1 Ipswich – Loss
  • Ipswich 0-3 Chelsea – Loss
  • Manchester United 3-1 Ipswich – Loss
  • Ipswich 2-2 Leicester – Draw

Key Player: Jaden Philogene (Forward)

  • Scored twice against Manchester United last week, including the opening goal inside four minutes.
  • All four of his last goals have come away from home.
  • Fast, direct, and creative, he will be crucial to Ipswich’s attacking chances.

Key Trends

  • Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last ten meetings with Ipswich.
  • Palace have scored 2+ goals in four of their last six matches against Ipswich.
  • Ipswich have struggled defensively, conceding 2+ goals in seven of their last eight league matches.

Match Prediction

This matchup heavily favours Crystal Palace, who are in great form and have an excellent record against relegation-threatened teams at home.

Ipswich’s defensive issues and poor recent form make them vulnerable, but their attacking players like Jaden Philogene could pose a threat. However, Palace’s attacking quality, led by Eze and Nketiah, should be enough to secure another home win.

Final Score Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-0 Ipswich Town

  • Eddie Nketiah to score in Mateta’s absence.
  • Ipswich’s defensive struggles to continue.
  • Palace to win their third consecutive Premier League game.
