Latest Football Transfer News and Rumours

The January transfer window is heating up, with clubs across Europe making moves to strengthen their squads before the deadline. From Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran edging closer to a Saudi switch to Juventus intensifying their pursuit of Marcus Rashford, EPLNews brings you the latest transfer stories making the headlines.

Jhon Duran Nears Aston Villa Exit as Al Nassr Agree Deal

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. The 21-year-old forward signed a long-term contract with Villa earlier this season, but has struggled for consistent game time under Unai Emery, with Ollie Watkins firmly established as the club’s first-choice striker.

West Ham United recently had a £57m bid for Duran turned down, but Al Nassr have now stepped in with a lucrative offer. According to The Athletic, the Saudi side has agreed on a deal worth an initial €77m (£64.5m) plus add-ons. The Colombian striker is set to undergo a medical before finalising the move.

Juventus Increase Interest in Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford

Juventus are preparing to raise their bid to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford before the transfer window closes. With the Italian giants slipping to fifth in Serie A, they are keen to bring in reinforcements to boost their attacking options (Fichajes – Spain).

Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, Rashford has turned down approaches from the Middle East and remains focused on European football (United In Focus). Whether Juventus can tempt Manchester United into a sale remains to be seen, but with the deadline fast approaching, negotiations could intensify.

Arsenal’s Bid for Ollie Watkins Rejected

Aston Villa have turned down a surprise bid from Arsenal for star striker Ollie Watkins. The Gunners have been searching for a top-class No.9 to lead their attack, especially after Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious knee injury earlier this month.

Watkins has been in fine form this season, netting ten Premier League goals for Villa. Mail Sport reports that Arsenal’s initial offer was rejected, although an improved bid is expected. Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Arsenal’s bid was worth £60m, though Villa remain reluctant to sell their key striker mid-season.

Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham Target Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is attracting major interest from Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, with all three clubs expected to make a move for him at the end of the season (TEAMtalk). The 24-year-old has been one of Brentford’s standout performers and his versatility in attack makes him an appealing prospect for top Premier League sides.

Bayern Munich and Dortmund Enter Race for Southampton’s Tyler Dibling

Southampton winger Tyler Dibling has emerged as a transfer target for German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The 18-year-old has also been on Tottenham’s radar, but with two of the Bundesliga’s biggest clubs now interested, Spurs could face stiff competition to land the young prospect (BBC).

Manchester City Keen on Juventus Full-Back Andrea Cambiaso

Pep Guardiola has reportedly urged Manchester City to do whatever it takes to sign Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso this month (Tuttosport – Italy). City are set to submit a bid worth around €60m (£50.2m), with potential bonuses taking the total closer to Juventus’ asking price of €70m (£58.6m) (Corriere dello Sport – Italy).

Arsenal Reignite Interest in RB Leipzig Striker Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal officials have once again discussed a potential January move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. With the transfer deadline approaching, the Gunners are weighing up an ambitious bid to secure the highly-rated Slovenian forward (The Mail).

Manchester United Set Deadline for Chelsea in Garnacho Pursuit

Manchester United have given Chelsea until Friday to meet their £70m asking price for winger Alejandro Garnacho. The Red Devils are unwilling to sanction his departure unless they have enough time to find a suitable replacement (GIVEMESPORT).

If Chelsea fail to land Garnacho, they have a list of alternative targets, including Bayern’s Mathys Tel, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap (The Mail).

Chelsea Rebuffed in Enquiries for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Georginio Rutter

Chelsea’s efforts to strengthen their midfield and attack have hit a stumbling block, with Brighton & Hove Albion rejecting their enquiries about Carlos Baleba and Georginio Rutter. The Blues are still actively searching for reinforcements before the transfer window closes (Simon Phillips).

Aston Villa and Wolves Battle for Lens Defender Kevin Danso

Aston Villa are set to go head-to-head with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Lens defender Kevin Danso. Both Premier League clubs are eager to bolster their defensive ranks before the deadline (Ben Jacobs).

West Ham’s Bid for Ricardo Pepi Rejected

West Ham United have failed in their attempt to sign PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi. The Hammers submitted a bid for the highly-rated U.S. international, but PSV have turned down their approach (Fabrizio Romano).

Final Thoughts

With the January transfer window coming to an end tomorrow, Premier League clubs are scrambling to secure last-minute deals. While some high-profile transfers—such as Jhon Duran’s move to Al Nassr—are nearing completion, others remain in negotiation stages. Expect more twists and turns as teams look to finalise their squads before the window slams shut.
