Bournemouth vs West Brom  FA Cup

Scorers: Kluivert 27’. Outtarra 35’ 45’, Semenyo 47’, Jebbison 90+2’; Taylor 14’

Bournemouth came from behind to dispatch West Bromwich Albion 5-1 in the FA Cup third round at the Vitality Stadium.

Caleb Taylor’s early header had briefly given the Baggies hope of an upset, but a dominant performance from the Premier League side, including a brace from Dango Ouattara, saw them advance comfortably.

First Half: Taylor’s Opener Sparks Brief Hope

West Brom, under interim coach Chris Brunt, made seven changes from their league draw against Swansea and started brightly.

Academy graduate Caleb Taylor, recalled from his loan spell, gave the visitors a shock lead in the 15th minute. Grady Diangana’s header crashed off the crossbar, and Taylor reacted quickest to nod in his first goal for the Baggies.

However, Bournemouth responded swiftly. David Brooks delivered a precise cross in the 28th minute, finding Justin Kluivert, who finished clinically to level the score.

The Cherries took control thereafter, with Ouattara putting them ahead just before the break. His low strike at the near post left West Brom keeper Joe Wildsmith rooted. Moments later, Ouattara struck again on the counter-attack, capping a rapid move to make it 3-1 at halftime.

Second Half: Bournemouth Dominate

Bournemouth wasted no time asserting their dominance in the second half. Substitute Antoine Semenyo unleashed a thunderous effort early in the period, extending the lead to 4-1.

West Brom struggled to respond, with Jed Wallace seeing a late shot saved in a rare second-half opportunity for the visitors.

Dan Jebbison completed the rout in stoppage time, netting Bournemouth’s fifth to cap off a comprehensive performance that showcased their attacking depth.

What’s Next?

Bournemouth progress to the FA Cup fourth round as they continue their strong season, currently sitting seventh in the Premier League. West Brom will return to Championship action next weekend, hosting Stoke City as they aim to refocus on their promotion push.
