Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest Report

Scorers: Saka 15’, Partey 52’, Nwaneri 86’

Arsenal returned to form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, putting an end to their four-match winless streak in the Premier League. Goals from Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, and teenager Ethan Nwaneri ensured a dominant performance as the Gunners extended their unbeaten home league run to nine matches.

First Half: Arsenal Dominate Early

Desperate to revive their title challenge after a dip in form, Arsenal came out of the gates firing. The hosts thought they had taken an early lead when Jurrien Timber slotted home, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Undeterred, the Gunners continued to pile on the pressure, and their persistence paid off in the 15th minute. Martin Ødegaard, back in the starting lineup after injury troubles, played a neat one-two with Bukayo Saka. The England international then rifled a stunning strike into the top corner, leaving Forest keeper Matz Sels with no chance.

Arsenal maintained control throughout the half, with Ødegaard pulling the strings in midfield and Saka terrorising Forest’s backline. Sels was kept busy, denying both Leandro Trossard’s fierce effort and another curling attempt from Saka to ensure the visitors entered the break just a goal behind.

Second Half: Partey and Nwaneri Seal the Win

Arsenal made a statement immediately after the restart, with substitute Thomas Partey making an instant impact. The Ghanaian, introduced at halftime, doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, unleashing a sublime curling effort after being set up by Saka, who was involved in everything positive for the Gunners.

Nottingham Forest, who had impressed defensively this season, struggled to contain Arsenal’s relentless attack. Nuno Espírito Santo’s men introduced Chris Wood and Jota Silva to spark a comeback, but their best chance was squandered when Wood inadvertently blocked Silva’s goal-bound shot.

The final nail in the coffin came from 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who capped off a brilliant Arsenal move with his first Premier League goal. Nwaneri’s composed finish added a layer of gloss to an already impressive display and ensured the Gunners walked away with all three points.

Conclusion: Arsenal Back on Track

The victory was a much-needed morale boost for Arsenal, who remain fourth in the league, now six points behind leaders Liverpool. Bukayo Saka was the standout performer, contributing a goal and an assist in a display that showcased his growing influence in the team.

For Nottingham Forest, the defeat ended their unbeaten run of eight away games but did little to tarnish what has been an excellent start to the season. They remain in contention for a European spot, a remarkable achievement for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side at this stage.

Arsenal now turn their focus to maintaining momentum as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League leaders, while Nottingham Forest look to bounce back and solidify their position in the European places.
