Everton vs Fulham Report

Everton Snatch Late Equaliser to Draw 1-1 with Fulham at Goodison Park

Everton extended their unbeaten Premier League run to five games as substitute Beto’s stoppage-time header rescued a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Goodison Park. Alex Iwobi’s goal looked to have given Fulham all three points, but Everton’s resilience paid off in the dying moments to secure a crucial point.

First Half: VAR Denies Everton as Fulham Control Possession

With Everton’s recent defensive solidity, the game started quietly, with few chances created by either side. Fulham enjoyed more possession in the first half but only managed their first serious threat in the 27th minute, with Adama Traoré firing at Jordan Pickford from a tight angle and Emile Smith Rowe volleying over the bar moments later.

Everton thought they had taken the lead just after the half-hour mark when Dominic Calvert-Lewin reacted quickly to turn in a rebound after Idrissa Gueye’s long-range strike hit the crossbar. However, VAR ruled Calvert-Lewin offside, denying the Toffees the opener and keeping the game scoreless.

Second Half: Iwobi Strikes, but Beto’s Late Heroics Rescue Everton

The second half continued in a similar vein, with goalmouth action remaining scarce. After an hour of cagey play, Fulham broke the deadlock. Emile Smith Rowe picked up the ball near the halfway line, skipped past Everton defenders, and passed to Alex Iwobi, who dribbled into the box before slotting a low shot into the bottom corner. Iwobi’s muted celebration reflected his respect for his former club, but Fulham fans celebrated as they moved closer to a fifth consecutive win at Goodison Park.

In search of an equaliser, Sean Dyche introduced late substitutes Orel Mangala and Beto, a move that initially frustrated the home fans as Doucouré and Calvert-Lewin made way. However, the decision paid off deep into stoppage time when Ashley Young volleyed a cross into the box, and Beto rose highest to head home, salvaging a point for the Toffees and extending their unbeaten run.

Conclusion

Everton’s late equaliser against Fulham showcased their resilience and extended their unbeaten league run to five matches. Alex Iwobi’s goal had looked set to give Fulham a valuable away victory, but Beto’s late heroics secured a dramatic point for the Toffees.

Fulham will feel this was two points dropped after recent defeats, while Everton continue to climb the table, moving up to 15th with Dyche’s positive momentum intact.
