Liverpool vs Bournemouth Report

Scorers: Diaz 26’, 28’, Núñez 37’

Liverpool produced a dominant display at Anfield, securing a comfortable 3-0 win over Bournemouth. Goals from Luis Díaz and Darwin Núñez, alongside a resilient defensive performance, saw the Reds take all three points.

First Half

The match began with high intensity, but Bournemouth thought they had taken an early lead in the 4th minute when Antoine Semenyo found the back of the net. However, after a VAR review, the goal was ruled offside, keeping the score at 0-0.

Liverpool responded swiftly, and in the 26th minute, Luis Díaz opened the scoring. A quick move down the left flank saw Ibrahima Konaté provide an assist, with Díaz finishing calmly into the bottom left corner.

Just two minutes later, Díaz struck again to double Liverpool’s advantage. This time, it was Trent Alexander-Arnold who set him up, and the Colombian coolly slotted the ball into the centre of the goal to make it 2-0.

Bournemouth struggled to create meaningful chances, with Liverpool’s defence and goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher standing firm. Despite efforts from the visitors, including an attempt by Antoine Semenyo that was saved in the 20th minute, they couldn’t break through.

In the 37th minute, Darwin Núñez added Liverpool’s third goal, firing a left-footed shot into the bottom corner following a brilliant assist from Mohamed Salah. This put the Reds firmly in control as the first half came to a close at 3-0.

Second Half

Bournemouth made several substitutions to try and turn the tide, including bringing on Luis Sinisterra and Alex Scott. Despite their best efforts, Liverpool’s defence remained unbreakable. Federico Chiesa, who came on for Darwin Núñez, made an immediate impact, coming close to scoring when his left-footed shot hit the post in the 78th minute.

Bournemouth came closest to pulling one back in the 83rd minute when Sinisterra’s header struck the bar. However, it was not to be their day, as Kelleher made several crucial saves to deny both Sinisterra and Alex Scott in the final minutes of the match.

The match ended with Liverpool managing the game comfortably, as Bournemouth could not find a way past the Reds’ defence. Liverpool walked away with a 3-0 victory.

Key Moments

4th Minute: Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo scores, but VAR rules the goal offside.

26th Minute: Luis Díaz opens the scoring for Liverpool with a calm finish after being set up by Ibrahima Konaté.

28th Minute: Díaz scores his second goal, assisted by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

37th Minute: Darwin Núñez adds Liverpool’s third goal, assisted by Mohamed Salah.

83rd Minute: Bournemouth’s Luis Sinisterra hits the bar with a header.

Conclusion

This victory lifts Liverpool further up the Premier League table as they continue their strong start to the season. Luis Díaz’s clinical performance, along with Darwin Núñez’s contributions, showcased Liverpool’s attacking prowess. Bournemouth, on the other hand, will be left ruing their missed chances and the disallowed goal early in the match.
