Transfer Deadline Day Is Here!
Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United
A deal that had been rumbling on almost all summer and now looks like it will finally come true. There is an agreement in place for PSG to receive £42 million up front and another £8.4 million in add-ons.
This will see long-term United servant Scott McTominay leave the club to join Napoli.
The Ivan Toney Saga
This one is still very much in the air. It’s clear that Brentford want to sell after not including their star striker in any of the three games they have played this season. The Bees have even lowered their asking price from £50 to £40 million.
But where will the Englishman end up? There has been interest all summer from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, but a significant offer from Al-Ahli has been put forth to Toney, so he might not even be in the Premier League by the end of the day.
Intriguing.
Will Liverpool Add to Their Ranks?
After being the last team to finally seal a deal for this summer and bringing in Federico Chiesa from Juventus, can we expect more activity from Liverpool?
It could very well be that there will only be exits today from Anfield. Ben Doak and Caoimhin Kelleher could both leave, either on loan or permanently, along with a number of other youngsters.
Let’s see what the day brings for the Reds.
Raheem Sterling
For the sake of still seeing Raheem Sterling on a football pitch between now and January, we here at EPLNews hope that he seals an exit from Chelsea today.
The most likely destination at the moment seems to be Manchester United, but there have been rumblings about interest from Aston Villa as well.
One thing is certain: Maresca does not include Sterling in his plans.
Jadon Sancho’s United Exit
A similar situation to Sterling’s at Chelsea, Sancho will need to leave Manchester United in order to play some football this season.
Shockingly, it might be Chelsea who give him an escape route from Old Trafford, with a swap involving Sterling being discussed intensively.
Helping Borussia Dortmund to the UCL final last season certainly raised Sancho’s reputation again, so we might see more interest in him by the end of today.
