Eriksson Passes Away
The footballing world mourns the passing of Swedish football manager Sven-Göran Eriksson at the age of 76, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was in charge of the England national team between 2001 and 2006, as well as Manchester City in the English Premier League.

EPL Transfers
Brighton have confirmed the signing of Danish midfielder Matt O’Riley from Celtic Glasgow in a deal reportedly worth £25 million. His contract with the Seagulls will span over five years. (Brighton official announcement)
Eddie Nketiah seems very close to a switch to Crystal Palace, as Arsenal have reportedly accepted a £25 million (plus £5 million in add-ons) offer, according to The Athletic.
ESPN tells us that Manchester United are set to announce the transfer of PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte tomorrow, once the contract is signed.
Liverpool are still eyeing reinforcement at centre-back, with TEAMtalk reporting that their main targets are Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie. However, the Daily Mail says that Guehi is finally close to a move to Newcastle, after the Magpies’ fifth bid for him (worth £70 million) was finally accepted by Palace.
Brighton striker Evan Ferguson might be the subject of a transfer tussle between Arsenal and Manchester City in these final four days of the window, if a report from Football Transfers is to be believed.
Speaking of Manchester City, they have agreed to sell Joao Cancelo to Al Hilal for roughly £21 million, while reaching personal terms is not believed to be an obstacle. (BBC)
