Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

The Premier League 2024/25 season might have kicked off but transfer activity is still in full swing. Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

EPL Transfers

Brighton have completed the signing of Leeds striker Georginio Rutter for a reported club record fee of £40 million, while his contract with the Seagulls is set to run for five years. (Brighton official announcement)

Ipswich Town have brought in Napoli midfielder Jens Cajuste on a season-long loan. (Ipswich official announcement)

While Leicester and Tottenham played a game against each other yesterday, there was also a confirmed transfer between the two clubs. Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp has joined the Foxes on a five-year deal, while the fee is understood to be around £20 million. (Leicester official announcement)

Chelsea have agreed a £46.3 million (£42 million upfront) deal with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix. This breakthrough opens the door for Conor Gallagher to move in the opposite direction, with both transfers expected to be confirmed soon. (Sky Sports)

After it has emerged that Ilkay Gündoğan has been put up for sale by Barcelona, the queue for his services has been getting longer and longer. Despite heavy interest from Saudi clubs, especially Al-Nassr, it is his former team Manchester City who are most interested in signing the midfielder, who yesterday also announced his retirement from the German national team. (ESPN)

Newcastle are looking for alternatives to Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, who has been the subject of four bids from the Magpies, all rejected by Palace. Their search for other defensive targets has led Newcastle to Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen, in addition to the already-linked Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea. (Mundo Deportivo)

Federico Chiesa is definitely headed for the exit door at Juventus and, while both Chelsea and Manchester United have made offers, the player has not yet made up his mind about where he would like to play. (SPORT)

And according to the Daily Mail, another potential deal between Chelsea and Juventus might see Raheem Sterling being shipped off to Italy.

While Carlo Ancelotti would like Real Madrid to bring in Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, it seems that it will not be happening before the end of the current window, according to Defensa Central.

Football Insider reports that Manchester United are looking to sell Victor Lindelof this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has an update about Nottingham Forest’s search for a striker. They have submitted bids to Feyenoord for Santiago Gimenez and to Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah, but both offers have been rejected. Negotiations are still ongoing and Romano says that only one target will be signed.

Tottenham are looking to sign Monaco right-back Vanderson, as the French team have almost completed a deal for his replacement, Jordan Teze from PSV Eindhoven. (Foot Mercato)

Once again with SPORT, we learn that Newcastle will be testing Barcelona’s resolve with a £25 million bid for Ferran Torres.

And lastly, Football Insider has some news for Liverpool fans: having missed out on Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, the Reds are not looking to bring anyone for the middle of the park this window.
