Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

EPL Transfers

Chelsea have not given up on signing Victor Osimhen. The Blues are wrapping up the deal for Samu Omorodion, who just won the Olympics gold medal with Spain in France but the youngster’s presence as well as those of Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu is not deterring the club from their plans to make the Nigerian striker their first choice for the 2024/25 season. His transfer fee continues to be a problem, however, but they have not ended contact with all necessary parties. (The Athletic FC Podcast)

Chelsea have agreed a £54 million deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto. The Blues were not among the clubs linked to the Portugal international which makes this transfer a surprising one, even for fans of the club. This presents a dilemma of sorts for Arsenal, who will feel like they had the rug pulled from under them. The former Braga youngster will have his medical in the coming days and will sign a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge. (Fabrice Hawkins)

Wolves, on the other hand, have identified Ajax youngster Carlos Forbes as Neto’s immediate replacement (Fabrizio Romano). The Old Gold are already in talks with Forbes’ people and Ajax over a deal which will see the Portuguese youngster return to England only a year after leaving the country – Manchester City’s academy to be precise – for regular first-team football. De Godenzonen paid around £18 million to City for his signature and signed him to a five-year deal. The 20-year-old is valued at around £6 million, which makes it a cheap option for Wolves.

Manchester United are in talks with Mario Hermoso, the former Atlético de Madrid defender who is now a free agent (Maximo de la Cruz Ramirez Ramirez). “Man Utd have initiated official contact with Mario Hermoso, the former Atletico Madrid player,” the journalist posted via his X (formerly Twitter) account. For now, negotiations are in their initial stages and we will have to see how they develop. The defender is asking for a gross salary of €6 million and a three-year contract.” It is believed that he is seen as a quick fix for the void that Leny Yoro’s injury will leave and that it will not deter bids for Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs De Ligt.

West Ham United have finally broken through the barriers to landing Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Hammers confirmed the signing of Jean-Claire Todibo who comes in to replace Kurt Zouma earlier (Sky Sports) and now, they look set to welcome a long-term target to the London Stadium as Julen Lopetegui continues to build his first Hammers squad. It is claimed that wages are one of the reasons for Wan-Bissaka’s hesitancy to move to East London but both clubs are now discussing a package that will see him compensated for the wage reduction he will take when he signs as a West Ham player. Eddie Nketiah has agreed to join Roberto De Zerbi at Olympique de Marseille and Arsenal is ready to sanction the deal. Nketiah, 25, has agreed personal terms with Marseille, who have had deals for the striker rejected in the past. The Gunners are now more open to letting the forward leave and are even suggesting that Marseille take him on loan with an option to buy in the 2025/26 season. If this doesn’t favour the French club, they have the option of paying £25.7 million, which is the Gunner’s valuation of the player. Marseille are now evaluating their offer to Arsenal.
