Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

United’s New Stadium Plans

A club committee has determined that Manchester United would be better off building a new stadium than redeveloping Old Trafford, as it would have a more transformative effect on the club.

While it is still somewhat in the early stages and a new stadium is certainly not the only way to go, it does seem like United’s decision makers are favouring the idea of building a new home for the club. The new stadium would be built on land that United already owns next to Old Trafford, and inspiration might be taken from the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, as well as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley.

The rumoured capacity of the new stadium is 100,000.

EPL Transfers

Tottenham have signed Korean 18-year-old Yang Min-Hyeok from K-League 1 side Gangwon. He will join Spurs in January 2025 and his contract runs until 2030. (Tottenham official announcement)

From Sky Sports we find out that while Manchester United and Bayern Munich are advanced in negotiating a deal to bring Noussair Mazraoui to the Prem, talks are still open on Matthijs de Ligt joining him. It’s also worth noting that both players are represented by the same agency and that personal terms have been agreed with Mazraoui.

Aston Villa have submitted a loan offer to Manchester City for midfielder Kalvin Phillips. There is also interest in him from Everton, and City would like to offload him permanently, but will settle for a loan if no adequate buying offers come in. (Football Insider)

Foot Mercato reports that an agreement has been reached between West Ham and Manchester United for the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

And while on the subject of West Ham, there is genuine interest from the Hammers in Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville, according to Fabrizio Romano. However, he is also expressing doubts about whether or not the Londoners can get a deal done, as he might cost around £30 million.

Arsenal are looking for £30 million in exchange for Aaron Ramsdale, who is on the radars of Nottingham Forest and Southampton, as per a report from CaughtOffside.

Liverpool have apparently tabled a bid for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham all summer. The Portuguese outfit are not budging on the transfer sum, as they demand that anyone wanting the Swede’s services must pay the £84.5 million release clause. (Football Insider)

In other Manchester United news, Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun claims that Besiktas have made an offer for Antony. The Brazilian wants to stay at United, while the club are quite willing to sell him.

From Alan Nixon we hear that Newcastle are looking to get Sheffield United striker Will Osula for about £10 million. He would act as back-up for Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson at St. James’ Park.

Lastly, Gazzetta dello Sport tells us that the agent of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa is in London for meetings with Chelsea and Tottenham about a move for his client.
