Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.
FPL Is Live
Fantasy Premier League managers can already register their teams ahead of the 2024/25 season and there are already some players who are being selected on a consistent basis.
Even though Cole Palmer’s price went up from £5.0m to £10.5m (biggest price rise ever for a player), the Chelsea player has still been selected in over 53% of the squads submitted, making him the most popular FPL midfielder at the moment.
Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon takes second place in this top, with the £7.5m midfielder in 36% of squads, while Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze takes third with 33%.
In terms of forwards, it’s a tight battle at the top, with Villa’s Ollie Watkins, priced at £9.0m, sitting in first place with 56%, while Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, £0.5m cheaper, has been selected by 54% of managers at this point.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, the most expensive FPL player ever at £15.0m, finds a spot in only 30% of squads right now.

Spanish publication Fichajes claims that Virgil van Dijk could still leave Liverpool this summer and that the Reds are set to replace him with Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer.
