Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

Klopp Continues with Liverpool

Two months after Jürgen Klopp left his position as manager of Liverpool, he continues to be tied to the Merseyside outfit as he has agreed to become an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, which is the club’s official charity organisation.

He has long been associated with the LFC Foundation, always contributing during his nine-year stint at Liverpool. Even after his last game in charge against Wolves in May, he donated a number of items worn and signed by him for a fundraising auction, which raked in £40,000 in seven days.

Speaking about his role as LFC Foundation honorary ambassador, Klopp said: “The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool city region and beyond.

“I’m really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first-ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that, now that I have more time on my hands.”

EPL Transfers

Premier League new boys Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of 23-year-old centre-back Jacob Greaves from Hull City. The reported fee stands at £18 million including add-ons and bonuses, while the contract extends over five years. (Ipswich official announcement)

Leicester and Wilfred Ndidi have agreed on a three-year contract extension. The new deal, running until June 2027, will make Ndidi’s stint with the Foxes last over a decade, after he joined the club in January 2017. (Leicester official announcement)

In news of another contract extension, it is Manchester United tying down centre-back Jonny Evans for another season. The 36-year-old rejoined the Old Trafford side last summer after eight years away from the club. (Manchester United official announcement)

Chelsea have announced the signing of FC Basel midfielder Renato Veiga for a reported fee of £12 million. He joins the Blues on a seven-year contract. (Chelsea official announcement)

Arsenal is preparing to wave goodbye to Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares. Both are heading out on initial loans, with Lokonga having his medical with Sevilla ahead of a loan with option to buy for £10 million, while Tavares’ agents are discussing personal terms with Lazio. His deal is a loan with obligation to buy for £4.2 million plus add-ons. (Sky Sports)

Gazzetta dello Sport informs us that Manchester United have made a “huge offer” to PSG for Dutch star Xavi Simons. There is plenty of interest in him from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, so the English team wants to move quickly to secure Simons’ services.

As both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in centre-back Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace have set a price tag of £70 million for him. (Football Insider)

After he had been linked with Liverpool a few weeks ago, now Atalanta midfielder Ederson is on Tottenham’s radar, who see him as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. (GIVEMESPORT)

Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino is ready to leave the club this summer and would be interested in a move to Arsenal, who are prepared to pay £21 million to bring him in, according to Football Transfers. However, word from Tutto Juve is that Sociedad are looking for £33.7 million to part ways with Merino.

German newspaper Die Woche claims that Liverpool are ready to trigger the £50.5 million release clause of RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, but must also convince him to reject interest from Manchester City and Barcelona in favour of a move to Anfield.

According to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun, 18-year-old Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy is of interest to at least two EPL clubs. Aston Villa has offered a player-plus-cash deal, while Fulham also made an offer. Both were rejected as they did not amount to the Istanbul’s club valuation of the player: £25.2 million.
