Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here are our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

England team gets boost ahead of Switzerland clash in EURO Quarter-Finals

The Three Lions fans were excited to see all 26 called-up players feature in training for the first time since the start of the Euros on Wednesday ahead of their crunch clash with Switzerland, one of the better teams in the ongoing UEFA European Championships.

Luke Shaw, England’s only specialist left-back at the tournament, was called up by Gareth Southgate despite dealing with a hamstring issue. Up until Wednesday, he was not an option for the 2020 finalists. John Stones scared fans, however, as he was seen with a knee strap.

The sensations around the England team are good, regardless.

Arsenal move to keep 32-goal wonderkid amidst Bundesliga interest

Arsenal are facing a race against time to keep their 16-year-old sensation, Chido Obi-Martin, who is currently regarded as the most exciting academy prospect after Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

The Gunners are improving their offer to the teenager, who cannot turn professional in England until his 17th birthday, which is in November.

Obi-Martin scored 10 goals and seven goals against Liverpool and Norwich in the U-18 Premier League last season, sparking debates about how good he is. Since then, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have approached his family to sign him.

The lad’s family is also believed to be in support of his move to Germany which has established itself as a hub for youngsters’ development. To prevent this, Arsenal will up their offer for the striker.

This initiative is being championed by Mikel Arteta, who has planned an integration schedule for the striker, similar to how he handled Bukayo Saka at that age following his debut under Emery.

Arteta also intends to have Obi-Martin participate in pre-season as a way to show his commitment to the boy’s parents.

Arsenal’s new deal for Obi-Martin is an improved scholarship contract which will become a professional contract once he turns 17. The details of this contract are unknown, but it is believed to be enough to get his family to consider it.

They continue talks with other suitors, however, as they hope to find a club that can guarantee him first-team minutes as soon as possible. You can read the report here (Fabrizio Romano)
