Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

New Contract for Southampton Boss

Saints’ manager Russell Martin has signed a new three-year deal with the club after leading them to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs.

Along with him, the entire coaching staff at St. Mary’s (Matt Gill, Dean Thornton, Colin Calderwood, Carl Martin, Rhys Owen and Ben Parker) have signed contract extensions.

Here is what the man himself had to say: “I’d like to thank them for showing that commitment and for really believing in us and what we’ve done and the support they’ve given us so far and I’m really looking forward to continuing the journey, because it’s been an amazing year.

“I feel like we’ve all learned so much as a club, as a group. I feel like there’s so much to be excited about that when we first discussed it there was not even a question from myself or the coaches about what to do. It was like ‘Yeah, let’s do this’ and it’s all been tied up pretty quickly and I’m really excited about the season ahead.”

EPL Transfers

18-year-old Archie Gray has joined Tottenham from Leeds United on a permanent transfer, for a fee rumoured to be around £25-30 million. The U21 England international’s move also means that Joe Rodon heads in the other direction for good after spending last season on loan at Elland Road. (Tottenham official announcement)

Wolverhampton have signed Jørgen Strand Larsen on loan from Celta Vigo for this season. His move will become permanent until 2029 if certain clauses are fulfilled. (Wolves official announcement)

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s move to Chelsea is now complete, after signing a five-year deal to follow manager Enzo Maresca from Leicester to Stamford Bridge. (Chelsea official announcement)

And another confirmed Wolves transfer, as 18-year-old defender Pedro Lima signed a five-year contract to join the Molineux outfit from Brazilian club Sport Recife. (Wolves official announcement)

Manchester United are looking to trim down the playing staff. The Daily Mirror claims that “the majority of the squad” can be subject to offers from other clubs, while new sporting director Dan Ashworth is set to hold talks with Marcus Rashford. They would prefer to keep him, but are “open-minded” about selling him. At the same time, the Daily Express reports that United are working hard to sell Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood as early as next week.

Olympique Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye is expected to complete a move to Everton very soon, as he has already passed his medical. (Sky Sports News)

Arsenal is keen on bringing in Barcelona centre-back Jules Kounde this summer, but the Catalan club are waiting to see whether Ronald Araujo stays before sanctioning a deal for Kounde. The rumoured transfer fee for the Frenchman is £50.8 million. (90min)

Liverpool are understood to be ready to pay the release clause in the contract between Nico Williams and Athletic Club. The winger is also wanted by Chelsea and Barcelona. (El Nacional)

Corriere dello Sport tells us that Arsenal have submitted a £40 million bid for Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori. Chelsea are also very keen on the player.

Manchester City could sell Matheus Nunes this summer in order to fund a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. (The Athletic)

Brighton have had a £30 million bid rejected by Leeds United for Georginio Rutter. This might make the Seagulls switch their attention to his teammate, Crysencio Summerville. (Leeds Live). At the same time, Dutch publication De Telegraaf claims that PSG have already enquired about a move for Summerville.

If Borussia Dortmund fail to convince Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross to join the club, they will attempt to sign Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg instead. (Sky Sports Germany)
