Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours
Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.
Aston Villa Star Suspended
Villa winger Leon Bailey has been suspended by the Jamaican Football Federation for comments he made on a podcast regarding the governing body’s professionalism and practices.
Bailey made his international debut for Jamaica in 2019 and has scored five goals in 30 appearances.
After featuring on the Let’s Be Honest podcast earlier this year and complaining about the lack of professionalism and planning within the Jamaican federation, it has now emerged that they have temporarily suspended Bailey.
A statement released yesterday by the JFF reads: “The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), has made the decision to temporarily suspend the selection of Leon Bailey to the senior Men’s National Team. This decision has been made in light of recent circumstances surrounding his comments and non-participation in the Copa America 2024 team, despite being selected.
“Consideration was also given to his stated desire to take a break from national duties, and suspending his selection will guard against any further miscommunication. The JFF values the contributions of all players and respects their individual decisions regarding national team participation.”
