EPL Players at EURO 2024 – Day 7
Three games took place yesterday, including Denmark vs England, so there were plenty of important EPL players on show. As part of our EPLNews EURO 2024 report, here is how Premier League players performed in these games.
Slovenia 1-1 Serbia
After Slovenia took the lead in the 69th minute, it was looking increasingly likely that they would secure their first-ever EURO victory. However, it wasn’t to be, as Serbia equalised in the fifth minute of stoppage time to keep their own qualification hopes alive.
Only one Premier League player was involved in this match, as Fulham’s Saša Lukić was in the starting XI for Serbia and played until his substitution just after the hour mark.
His performance was fairly uneventful, but he was booked about 10 minutes before coming off.
Ratings

Serbia: Saša Lukić (Fulham) – 6.5

Denmark 1-1 England
It ended all square in the EURO 2024 game with the highest number of EPL players involved so far.
Denmark were arguably the better and more determined team in this contest, as they kept pushing for a winning goal after Morten Hjulmand’s superb long range goal cancelled out a poacher’s finish from Harry Kane. However, no further goals were scored and the result leaves group C finely poised ahead of the final group stage matchday, with all 4 teams still able to qualify.
Some of the best Premier League players on the pitch in this game were Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, who also won the Man of the Match award, Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (6 saves) and Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, who offered a good measure of solidity for the England defence.

Spain 1-0 Italy
In the biggest game of the tournament so far, a dominating Spain team managed to secure a narrow win thanks to a Riccardo Calafiori own goal coming in the 55th minute.
While the manner of the goal was harsh on the Italians, the result was no less than what Spain deserved, as they outclassed their opponents all over the pitch, registering a total of 20 shots to Italy’s four.
In terms of Premier League players, Spain called upon Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella and City midfielder Rodri, while Italy relied upon Arsenal’s Jorginho to keep things organised in the middle of the park.
None of them had a particularly good or bad game, but it is worth mentioning that Jorginho was arguably Italy’s best outfield player despite being subbed off at half-time.
Ratings
Spain: Marc Cucurella (Chelsea) – 7.5; Rodri (Manchester City) – 7
Italy: Jorginho (Arsenal) – 7
