Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours

Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.

New Leicester Coach Incoming?

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Premier League new boys Leicester City are in advanced talks to appoint former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, possibly as early as this week.

Cooper has not managed any club since leaving Forest back in December 2023.

Everton Takeover Update

Dan Friedkin’s proposed takeover of Everton has reached a turning point and the club is now as good as officially his property, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian outlet reported on their website on the evening of 18 June that within the past few hours there had been a breakthrough on the American’s expected buy out of Farhad Moshiri.

The news comes as Everton have been linked to the Giallorossi’s Eduardo Bove, according to Sky Sports in Italy, raising the prospect of a potential deal within the Friedkin stable once he completes his takeover at Goodison Park.

Potter to Leicester?

After spending roughly a year and a half out of management since leaving Chelsea, former Brighton coach Graham Potter has reportedly held “positive talks” with Leicester City, according to Football.London.

The Foxes have been long-term admirers of Potter, and it emerged last week that he had become one of the club’s top targets to take over from Enzo Maresca. The Italian completed a move from Leicester to Chelsea just a few weeks ago, leaving Leicester searching for a new manager.

EPL Transfers

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, according to Football Insider. The fee is reported to be around £10 million.

Manchester United have made an offer of £25.4 million to Barcelona for Fermin Lopez, but the Spanish giants are not willing to sell him, especially at such a low price. (SPORT)

Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea have submitted a bid of £34 million (including add-ons) for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, but it was rejected as the Atleti do not want to sell.

FourFourTwo is saying that Arsenal have opened talks with Napoli for the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, and are confident that they can clinch a deal for a reduced fee. Calcio Napoli24 also tells us the figures involved: the Gunners want to offer £63 million at most, while Osimhen’s release clause stands at £100 million.

Again from Fabrizio Romano we learn that Tottenham are interested in a move for AS Monaco right-back Vanderson.

Spanish outlet El Desmarque reports that Manchester City’s coaching staff would like to keep Sergio Gomez, who is currently linked with a move to Real Sociedad.

Atletico Madrid have their sights set on Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and are ready to make a bid. However, it is believed that the Londoners are prepared to offer him a new contract. (Relevo)

The latest in the saga of Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer from Everton to Manchester United is that the Red Devils are ready to abandon the idea and instead focus on getting Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. United would be willing to offer Aaron Wan-Bissaka back to his former club as a makeweight in the deal. (TEAMtalk)

Colombian journalist Breinner Arteta is saying that a meeting between representatives of Barcelona and Luis Diaz will take place next week, as the winger is reportedly ready to leave Liverpool this summer.
