EPL Transfers
Chelsea have been pipped to the signature of Sport Recife’s 17-year-old Pedro Lima by Wolverhampton. Despite persistent speculation that the Blues had the signing almost sealed, now the Brazilian club made an official statement confirming an agreement with Wolves instead: “Sport Club do Recife announces that it has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton Wanderers, from England.” (90min)
Football Transfers tells us that Tottenham have made significant progress in their attempt to sign Brentford star striker Ivan Toney by agreeing personal terms with the player and submitting a bid of £40 million. However, the Bees are said to be holding out for £55 – £65 million.
More news about the transfer of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United. After rejecting United’s first bid of £35 million plus add-ons, Sky Sports News claims that the Toffees are looking for at least double that amount.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Crystal Palace are not going to give Marc Guehi up without a fight. Among interest in the defender from various clubs, the Eagles have placed a £65 million price tag on the player.
West Ham United are considering making an offer for out-of-contract Ryan Sessegnon, but are not fully convinced by what he has shown while playing for Tottenham. (The Guardian)
Liverpool are interested in one of Arne Slot’s former players at Feyenoord: defender David Hancko. The 26-year-old’s contract runs until 2028 and his club value him at about £29.5 million.
