Latest Premier League News and Transfer Rumours
Here is our EPL transfers and news round-up from today’s papers.
Fixtures’ Release Tomorrow
The 2024/25 Premier League schedule will become much clearer tomorrow, as the full list of fixtures will be released tomorrow, June 18, at 9 AM BST.
Since the establishment of the Premier League, the best opening matchday performers have been Chelsea and Manchester United, who have both won 62.5% of their games on matchday 1.
At the other end, the 3 promoted clubs – Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton – have a total of only 7 wins from their combined 46 opening games since 1992.
Individually speaking, there are 4 players jointly holding the record for most opening weekend goals, with 8 strikes. They are Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Mohamed Salah, meaning that the Egyptian could take the record for himself with a goal on matchday 1.
