Leicester Transfer Embargo Lifted
As the Foxes are preparing to appoint a new manager, with Graham Potter being the odds-on favourite at the moment, some good news for them today in a report from Leicester Mercury.
The Premier League has reportedly lifted Leicester City’s transfer restrictions due to PSR rules’ breaches, as they have received £10 million from Chelsea as compensation for the departure of manager Enzo Maresca. This sum will be “booked as pure profit for accounting purposes”, so now Leicester might not be forced to sell players this month in order to comply with PSR rules.
They were one of 5 clubs expected to need to sell players this month, but this latest report brings that number down to 4, as Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest might still need to offload players.
