Gameweek 35: Best FPL Tips

Another Fantasy Premier League double game week is upon us but this time, only one game makes it a ‘double’.

There isn’t much of an opportunity for fantasy managers in gameweek 35. We are not going to act as if most managers still have all their chips either.

However, we will deliver the best analysis you can find on the internet as you prepare to launch your teams against your friends in your mini-league and mini-FPL cups.

Also, in this week’s analysis, we will be focusing more on wildcard selections because the league is rounding up.

Gameweek Analysis

Many managers will be cursing their luck at the loss of Diogo Jota (£7.9m) to injury following his amazing performance against Fulham in week 34.

Liverpool’s most potent attacker, whose conversion rate is above 25 percent in the league, has spent more time on the sidelines than he has started games this season. Yet, anytime he is fit, he has to be counted upon because of his points average per week (7.5) only to return to the sidelines.

This particular reason, as well as the nature of the rest of the season, is why we will be focusing on wildcard selections for week 35. First of all, here are the fixtures for gameweek 35.

West Ham vs Liverpool is a good game to look at because there are a lot of options there. While Mohamed Salah (£13.6m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m), and Darwin Nuňez (£7.4m) are not exactly wildcard players (because of their cost), having one or more of these players in your team is a long-term investment.

By the way, Jota scored in the reverse fixture of this tie, which makes his injury even sadder.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace is another important game to consider for wildcard options. Oliver Glasner has turned that team around and two players: Eberechi Eze (£6.1m) and Michael Olise (£5.6m) have been pivotal in that turnaround.

Nottingham Forest play Manchester City in week 35 but it is their next run of games which makes Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.7m), their most valuable FPL asset, a good choice for this week. If you still have the Bench Boost chip, he can be on the bench and his points will be added to your week 35 total. If not, keep him for the rest of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have two double-game weeks after week 35, which means Pedro Porro (£5.8m), Son Heung-Min (£9.8m), James Maddison (£7.8m) and of course, Cole Palmer (£6.2m), have to be in any wildcard selections.

Best FPL Players for Week 35

Dominic Solanke (£7.1m) – Bournemouth

Dominic Solanke is one of our top picks for the week once again because of his potential as a wildcard. Also, AFC Bournemouth are facing Brighton and Hove Albion, who are in the top half of the table for xGC (expected goals conceded).

Having the Premier League’s fourth-highest goalscorer in that match is something many managers will be considering – or must have already considered, going by how much his ownership has risen in the last few game weeks.

Bournemouth’s remaining opponents after Brighton are Arsenal, Brentford and Chelsea. He is likely to score in two of these games (Brentford and Chelsea) which means that his £7.1m transfer fee on the app can be great value for money.

Based on trends from past years, most FPL managers tend to use their Bench Boost chips between week 35 and week 38. Solanke on the bench in these weeks is a great opportunity to earn passive points to finish the season strongly.

Michael Olise (£5.6m) – Crystal Palace

Fulham for week 35, Manchester United for week 36, Wolverhampton Wanderers for week 37 and Aston Villa for the final game week of the 2023/24 Premier League season – these are the remaining fixtures that Michael Olise and Crystal Palace have to deal with.

Glasner’s style of football has now sunk into the Eagles’ subconscious and Olise fits like a glove. Glasner plays with a 3-4-2-1 system where Olise and Eze play as partner number 10s. He is also their main set piece taker, which gives him more chances of grabbing assists with the aerial prowess available in the team.

He is not scoring as much as his counterpart Eze, but he is their creator-in-chief, always starting moves, progressing the ball and making assists. He scored and assisted against West Ham United and was very important against Newcastle in week 34.

At under £6.0m, he is a steal and is a brilliant choice for a wildcard pick, especially with Fulham coming in week 35.
