Wolves vs Bournemouth Report

Scorer: Semenyo 37’

Red card: Kerkez 79’

In a closely contested Premier League match at Molineux, Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ struggles continued as they extended their winless run to six games, losing 1-0 to AFC Bournemouth.

This victory ended Bournemouth’s own three-game winless streak and boosted them into the top half of the standings.

First Half Review

The first half saw Bournemouth dominate the proceedings, with Antoine Semenyo being a constant threat. Wolverhampton’s goalkeeper, José Sá, was forced into action early, saving a strong attempt from Semenyo, followed by a Marcos Senesi header hitting the crossbar.

Further efforts from Milos Kerkez and Justin Kluivert tested Sá’s resolve before Semenyo tapped in the decisive goal following a deflection off Max Kilman.

Wolverhampton’s Offensive Efforts

Despite being on the back foot, Wolverhampton created a notable chance through Pablo Sarabia, whose curling shot was expertly saved by Bournemouth’s keeper, Mark Travers. However, the home team struggled to convert their opportunities into a goal.

Second Half Dynamics

Bournemouth nearly doubled their lead when Justin Kluivert redirected a misfired shot on target, but Sá was quick to react. Semenyo and Senesi continued to pressure, though Wolves had a disallowed goal when Hee-chan Hwang’s header was ruled out for a preceding foul.

Dramatic Conclusion

The match’s intensity escalated in the final minutes after Bournemouth’s Kerkez received a red card for a reckless challenge.

Despite being a man down and enduring ten minutes of stoppage time, Bournemouth held their ground. A late equaliser by Kilman was disallowed for offside, sealing Wolverhampton’s fate.

Conclusion

Bournemouth’s win at Molineux not only gives them a much-needed boost but also adds to Wolverhampton’s home woes.

The Cherries now look to build on this momentum, while Wolverhampton must regroup to end their disappointing stretch.
